East Highland high school had turned into a giant chaos storm.

Maddy Perez showed up in school wearing a turtle neck with a black hoodie over it, dark sunglasses covering her eyes.
As if it wasn't unusual enough for her to dress like that, she suddenly fainted during her intro to calc class.
The teacher noticed this and called 911, paramedics rushing to the classroom to inspect her.

Apparently she suffered from a lack of serotonin after using molly she bought from Fez at the carnival. She got depressed, didn't eat or drink for the entire weekend, causing her to pass out at school.

It seemed pretty simple until one of the paramedics discovered the marks on her neck. Maddy tried covering the marks before she left for school that morning by applying loads of of concealer. The sweat and rubbing of her sweater ruined it for her though, making it visible to the paramedics.

A large bruise was covering the Perez girl's neck. It was an obvious hand print, which brought up obvious concern to the paramedics, so they informed the principal about it. He talked to Maddy about it, but obviously she denied to tell him anything.

When her mother found out, hell broke lose. She was certain it was Nate Jacobs who chocked her daughter and gave her the bruising. Which was the obvious truth.

Even tough Maddy still didn't give in, her mother pressed charges against Nate, who got arrested during school hours.

Liz watched it all go down in only one day time. Multiple students made up rumors to exaggerate the situation.
It's all anyone was talking about, which makes sense since it quite a big deal. But it drove Liz insane.

She usually enjoyed it whenever there was a conflict between students, it cured the boredom she usually felt whenever she was at school. But now she felt uncomfortable hearing the way people talked about it like it wasn't that big of a deal.

To Liz it wasn't hard to tell that it was indeed the Jacobs boy who had chocked Maddy. She heard about how Maddy went all psycho to Nate's family at the chili stand.
Liz figured Nate had gotten mad, like usual, tried to confront her about it, and Maddy being Maddy treated it all like a joke, causing Nate to snap and...
boom; he chocked her.

So, constantly hearing dumb theories about what happend from random students, Liz had no intention to finish her last day at school for the week.

She got into her car, letting out a deep sigh of frustration before turning on the engine and leaving the school grounds.

With the windows rolled all the way down and some 80s rock song blasting trough the speakers, Liz finally started to calm down.

She felt relaxed and drove trough to town, no destination in mind when she noticed the familiar liquor store and gas station.

Liz hadn't seen Fez since the carnival, and weirdly, she kind of missed his presence. She started to consider him a friend, which was something the girl was not at all familiar with.

She never had a friend before, and it scared her to think Fez could just walk into her life and grab her interest like that, but he did. And she loved being around him, she loved how he would never judge her, she loved how he made silences comfortable, she loved how he listened to her, when usually she was the one to listen.

So yes, gaining a first friend was scary, but at least she found someone who was worth it.

"Yo Liz, what's up?"
Fez' face lit up when he noticed the familiar blonde walking into his store.

"Believe it or not, I missed your company."
Liz confessed, she's always been the type of person to be completely honest, sometimes a bit too honest, but at least people knew where they were at with her.
