The Coughlan Family might be small, but that doesn't stop them from keeping family traditions.

Christmas was one of these traditions the family had. Every single year the three couglan women would go on a little holiday.

They'd spent a week in New York City, exploring the best known place in the states, taking pictures of the empire state building like it changed over the year, and most importantly; look at the giant Christmas tree at rockefeller Center.

Liz didn't hate it. She definitely didn't love it, but she didn't hate it.
It wasn't like she ever had bigger plans for Christmas, and she enjoyed spending time with her family. She just didn't like Christmas in general.
Apart from buying gifts for the once she loved, and stuffing herself with her aunt's amazing cooking.

Most years she didn't care about leaving East Highland for a week, she never had anything or anyone to miss. But this year it was different.
Instead of Lea, who mostly screamed and cried about not wanting to leave her friend's for the holidays, it was Liz who felt about leaving a certain someone behind.

After everything that happend with Ashtray, Mouse and Fezco, She was afraid to let the matter go this easily. She wanted to be with them to help them out when they needed it, but both brothers insisted her that they would be fine.

She and Fezco spoke to each other every day while she was in New York. They didn't discuss the events with mouse very often, considering either of them would rather forget it ever happend.

So when they would find the time to call each other at the end of every day for the entire week, they talked about literally anything that came to mind.

Liz would tell him about what she's done during the day in the big city, and Fez would listen to her with the biggest smile on his face.

They talked for hours, to the point when Lea would throw a tantrum about her sister not being quiet while the two shared a room.

Liz choose to ignore it though, she wanted to hear Fez' voice, she enjoyed his company, even if it caused her to fall asleep on the subway the next day. It was worth it.

So, when Liz was on her flight back to California, all she could think about was the boy she's been longing to see. It's only been a week since they last saw each other, but they've been growing closer and closer with every second.

Marie was shocked when she first noticed the state her oldest niece was in. Always smiling, day dreaming, not paying any attention to the people around her, it was very unlike Liz. She wasn't worried though, it was very obvious that there was someone on her mind.
Marie didn't ask Liz about it, knowing that when she felt like it the girl would tell her herself, but she already knew it was the boy she opened the door to a few weeks back.

Suprisingly, Fezco wasn't the only person Liz missed during her vacation. She's was getting very used to the company of Maddy, Cassie amd Lexi as well. It was weird for Liz to start new friendships, especially with so many different people, but she strangely enjoyed every second of it.

She hung out with Lexi a lot during school hours already, but lately the two started to hang out after school a lot more as well. Both of them were feeling
Lonely lately, so hanging out together, as well as with Cassie and Maddy, brought great comfort to them.

Therefore, Liz was more than excited when she received an invitation to a New years eve party. Everyone at school was going to be there, even Fezco and Ashtray would be present.

So, when Liz arrived at the Perez, only a few hours before midnight to get ready for the party with Maddy, she made sure she looked the absolute best, excited for what the night would bring them.
