Halloween.
The one holiday Liz Coughlan actually enjoyed. She hates Christmas, because all people do during Christmas is turning overly sensitive because of the stress of buying gifts and cooking meals. And then when it's December 24th and Marie has invited all her friends and family over, Liz just sits there. Eating the food while everyone is pretending to be having the happiest time of their lives.
Like just because it was Christmas they weren't allow to show any other emotions other than happiness.
It disgusts her.Liz doesn't hate new year's, she's actually okay with it, it's like an excuse to drink until your liver stops working and no one would judge you.
She just thought the whole "New Years resolutions" was fucking stupid. Setting out goals for yourself and failing them desperately, so you just set up the same exact goals for the next New Years. It makes no fucking sense.Even her birthday was a holiday Liz would rather skip. It's like no one ever talks to you, until it's your birthday and suddenly they text you.
Half over her inbox was just filled with contacts texting her only once a year to wish her a happy birthday and then she'd never hear from her again. But Halloween is different. You're not celebrating anything so you can be in whatever mood you want, you can spend an entire year thinking about the perfect costume and go all out on that one specific party the whole town would be at. Halloween party's weren't much different from other parties, only it was that one time a year everyone had to dress up in their favorite costumes.
Liz loved picking out a costume for Halloween. She could go all out and no one would judge her. Like last year, when she went as Britney Spears and wore the shortest skirt ever worn, but it was fine, it was Halloween after all.
So, when Lexi texted her if she wanted to go costume shopping together, Liz didn't even have to hesitate but to say yes.
"Thank you so much for coming with me."
Lexi smiled gracefully while the two walked trough the mall, on their way to the Halloween store.
"Cassie went shopping with Kat and BB earlier and I didn't know who else to ask.""It's cool, I don't like costume shopping on my own either."
Liz shrugged, earning a surprised look from her friend.
"Last year I dragged my sister along. Worst decision ever. She kept begging me if she could wear a slutty outfit.. it was strange, can't lie."Lexi chuckled as they walked into the store, there was a lot of options visible by the second they walked in.
"So, what were you thinking of?"
Lexi asked, going trough the first rack of clothing just to scrunch up her nose whenever she saw something too short or revealing."Not sure, I don't feel like doing too much, just something obvious and simple seems good enough."
Liz replied while grabbing an outfit from the rack, looking at the "Indian" dress in horror and placing it back as fast as possible.
"Not planning on being racist though."Lexi laughed at her as she sighed trough the racks as well, finding multiple interesting options, but none of them seemed fun enough.
"I want to wear something fun. I'm not really the type of person to wear revealing clothes, not even on Halloween."
"Yea, I get that. We'll find you something."
Liz smiled at Lexi, walking further into the store."If I wear this, no one will flirt with me at the party."
Lexi held up the costume she was destined to wear, trying to hold in her laugh watching Liz look at the outfit she was holding with wide eyes."They most certainly won't."
Liz snorted, observing the way Lexi tried to put the curly wig on her head.
"So that means the outfit is perfect."
