"What are you doing?" I ask Davide as he forces his way into the room and closes the door, standing in front of it so I can't get out.

I haven't forgotten what happened when I was first brought here. The day that he took me from my apartment with Domenico and then proceeded to touch me and make vile remarks about me while I was tied to that chair.

Or the fact that he forced me to take photos with him on his phone, then he and Domenico made sick jokes about what he was going to do to them afterwards.

He just stands there, continuing to stare at me in a way that unsettles me to the absolute max. "Davide, what are you doing? Please leave."

"You know what I want to know?" He speaks, his deep voice making my skin crawl. "Why you aren't dead yet."

Why does everyone keep saying that?

"Or why boss has kept you here, given you a room and allowed you free run of the house. Our house." He continues, taking a step towards me and causing me to take one back out of instinct.

"I— I don't want any trouble." I tell him, my voice shaking a little as I continue taking slow steps backwards while he walks towards me.

"And I don't want you around here, piccola puttana." He scowls as he reaches out to grab my neck when suddenly the door opens behind him.

My eyes widen and Davide immediately stops, looking around to see who has come in. As he turns, I'm able to get a look too, noticing Elio stood in the doorway.

He looks between us with a confused expression, one hand still on the handle and the other holding onto the door frame. "What's going on?" He asks firmly.

"I— nothing, Elio." Davide replies quickly, almost stuttering in the process.

I narrow my eyes at the back of his head, wondering why the hell he's now suddenly decided to change his tone. Scared of Elio are we?

Davide must have some sort of sixth sense or something because just as I'm about to speak and tell Elio what he was really doing in the room, he turns and looks at me.

He shoots me daggers and I know just from his stare alone, that I am probably best to keep my mouth shut. Deciding that I don't particularly want a repeat of this situation again, I close my mouth and keep my thoughts to myself.

Elio doesn't seem too convinced, his eyes narrowing on Davide. "Perché sei qui?" He says, causing Davide to look back at him again.
[translation: why are you here?]

"Pensavo di aver sentito qualcosa. Volevo solo assicurarmi che fosse tutto a posto." Davide replies and I furrow my brows, looking between both men as they speak another language.

Elio doesn't say anything back initially, appearing to look as though he's thinking about something. His eyes gravitate towards me and he tilts his head.

"Well everything seems fine to me. Let's go, boss is holding a meeting downstairs." He eventually says, holding the door open and motioning for Davide to leave.
