"Why would you tell her that?" I hear my brother say.

"I don't know. It just came out." Another voice says, quickly recognising at Elio's.

"You wanted to hurt her. Good tactic." My brother comments and I narrow my eyes, wondering what the hell they're taking about.

"No. Not hurt her, but.. well.. yeah I guess that's what happened." Elio sighs.

Leandro chuckles, clearly finding amusement in their conversation. "Mentioning Eva would have definitely hurt her. Fuck, I wish I had thought of that one."

As soon as I enter the kitchen, their conversation stops and both men look at me. "Please, don't stop on my account."

Elio clears his throat, looking guilty of something. I can always tell when he's done something he probably shouldn't. He's an open book and I've learned to read him so well.

"How was Mexico?" Leandro asks.

"Fine."

"Get the money through?" He quizzes and I nod, my attention falling on Elio.

He shifts back and forth on his feet, looking anywhere but me. "So, what did I miss?" I ask as I lean back against the wall, crossing my arms over my chest.

"Not much." Leandro responds.

"No?" I cock my head. "Seems like you two were having an interesting conversation before I walked in."

Elio shifts even more more now, clearly growing uncomfortable. Leandro simply shrugs his shoulders, acting as if nothing has happened.

"So if I go to Lula's room right now, she isn't going to mention anything about Eva to me, mhm?" I say and both men share a look.

"I don't know. I mean, she might." Leandro mutters. "We're not psychic. How are we supposed to know what she says to you?"

I clench my jaw at him, looking over at Elio again who has remained very quiet. "How about you? You a psychic?"

He shakes his head. "No."

"No what?"

His brows crease slightly but he answers none the less. "No, boss."

"If I find out that either of you have done anything, I'm going to lose my shit. Got it?" I snap, not in the mood for their fucking games today.

When neither of them speak, I push off from the wall and walk towards the threshold when suddenly Elio calls out to me.

"Actually.." he mumbles. I turn around and narrow my eyes, waiting for him to continue. "I might have spoken to her yesterday and said.. some.. Uh, some things."

"What things?" I press.

He shrugs. "Just something about Eva being here last night."

"But Eva wasn't here last night. I wasn't here last night because I was still in Mexico." I state and he nods his head slowly.

"I know."
