A dark cloud of cigarette smoke briefly obscures my vision as I watch it slowly disappear in the air. I decide to take one final puff before putting it out in the glass ashtray on the desk, in my clubs private office.

"—he also has links to England." Nico explains as he sits back in his seat and crosses one leg over the other, shaking his foot up and down repeatedly.

"Where in England? It's a big fucking place." I comment. I'm growing seriously tired of trying to hunt this man down.

"I was getting to that part." Nico narrows his eyes in a sarcastic manner, pulling a face. For a man who's a few years older than me, he sure doesn't act like it sometimes.

Actually, make that most times.

"Manchester and London are the two main cities he's been linked to, but there could be more." Nico goes on. "I have connections of my own in the UK, so I'd be happy to set up some surveillance there. I have some guys who owe me favours anyway."

Of course he has connections there. Nico has connections everywhere.

"No one cares about your guys." Leandro mutters.

Nico looks over at him, arching a brow and tilting his head mockingly. "I'm sorry, what are you actually bringing to this meeting?"

Leandro grips the arm rests of his chair and attempts to stand up but I shoot him a look, silently warning  him to remain seated.

Nico isn't fazed by my brothers threat at all. In fact, he's never been bothered by Leandro's reputation or short temper. Some people claim to not be afraid of anything, but Nico genuinely isn't afraid of anything.

I still don't really know whether to admire him for it or to be scared about it.

Nico and my brother are too similar in ways. Perhaps that's why they always seem to clash and never see eye to eye. Leandro puts on a front, a persona that he thinks he has to create in order to remain feared.

In reality though, he isn't like that. He wasn't anyway. I guess things changed after our parents deaths. A lot changed.

Leandro's hands ball into fists as he clearly fights to control his temper. He'd only be creating something bigger than he could handle if he tried anything with Nico. He's more than aware of that too.

"Anyway, as I was saying.." Nico resumes. "I'll be notified if he makes anymore appearances in the country and I'll have surveillance on him for the entirety of his trip."

"Thank you, I appreciate it." I say.

He rolls his eyes with a small smile. "Even though all this could've been resolved if you'd just agreed to marry that man's daughter."

"Oh haven't you heard? He actually turned down the offer because he's keeping Lula around after all." Leandro comments snidely.

Nico's eyes flick over to me and he raises his brows in surprise. "Oh? I see."

"Gets a good fuck once and the next he's confessing his undying love to her." Leandro continues, shooting a quick glare my way.
