William's POV

After Kierra asked me to accompany here in buying a book at the mall, i checked my phone to check the time since i feel like it's pretty much near dinner time already as i glance around outside the glass window. Since today is the last day before weekend starts, a good meal is a nice thing to have right now to help her mind, or hopefully can take her thoughts away from unnecessary things. Hoping indeed to help both of us set aside those things once in a while.

I stared at Kierra who is busy reading the synopsis of the book, i tapped her hand lightly with a smile ," Hey kierra, it's almost dinner time already. Wanna grab dinner with me? My treat and any food you like, all on me ". Confusion is written all over her face, then she grabbed her phone to probably check the time. " Yeah i would love that, dinner with you sounds nice, and yeah, it is almost dinner time, let me just text my mom so that they won't wait for me for dinner okay? ", a gentle smile after those assuring words made me sigh in relief. She then started texting her mom and probably waiting for a response, i then stood up and threw the cup of drink in the garbage bin.

"Mom says okay, shall we go? where do you think would be nice?", seeing her stand beside me ready to go got me chuckling, which of course made her look at me with that confused face again. " Why are you laughing? You said you would treat me dinner, I am just saying yes because the next time we eat out it would be my turn to pay ", hearing those words got me soft like a pudding, making me want to pat her head like a puppy. But before i allow myself to do that, i just shook the thought away and opened my phone to call the restaurant i thought of.

" Hey brian, you still on duty at Lantaw right? Can you reserve one table for me? good for two people lang. Yes, salamat kaayo brad ( thank you so much bro ) ", after the confirmation of brian, i saw Kierra looking at the highway again, her eyes looks so lost in thought.

With a sigh, i took my jacket off and wore it over her shoulder, which made her look at me with a smile, that little smile she always do. Sometimes it scares me that i know you and your mind that i just wish i don't at all. Sometimes i want to be clueless instead, but honestly i don't even know why i care when i know for myself i have similar issues like her.

I ushered her the way to my car, Lantaw(a restaurant) is a few minutes ride away from the coffee shop so we need to get going. Opening the door for her made her laugh in amusement, though i hate to admit but i was never the type to be this kind of gentleman to a lady before. Shaking my head is all i can do before i get inside the car and start driving to the restaurant. After a few good minutes, we arrived at the location and parked the car. Walking towards the entrance to check on my reservation, which we don't have to wait for a long time since they ushered us to our reserved table already.

" What would you like to eat? meat? or trying out some vegetables? ", Eyeing Kierra while asking, she pointed some dishes of meat with a smile. " Do you really have to suggest vegetables? Whenever i get the chance to eat with Min, she always suggests vegetables, that's what i get for having a vegetarian friend right there ", Hearing her complained, i couldn't help but laugh. She likes vegetables but not as much as her friend does. Nodding with her choice of dishes, I called the waitress to get our order, telling her the dishes and beverages in which i got told to wait by an hour or less to be served.

" Still thinking about what you said to Min? You know you can always tell her anything and judge her after she knows everything. They will surely feel unfair when you just hold it in and not thinking about your friendship. I mean that's what girls think right? Friendship Code or something. ", Kierra looked at me seriously then turned away, facing the glass window overlooking the calm sea. " I know that actually, but i don't know how they would react. I hate having negative attention or anything similar to sympathy. I always do things on my own. I hate being pitied the most. "

For a few seconds i got my tongue tied, sat there in silence, realizing that i do feel the same. Just because she is a girl, I can force her to do the same as other girls. She held it in, all by herself all these time. She wouldn't even talk to me about this if i hadn't seen that scene before. I could only pat the top of her head while smiling, " I'm here for you anyways, you can do what you want and lean on me if you ever need someone ". my words, etched with softness and seriousness, Kierra only then smiled and nodded.

After a few minutes of silence, the foods arrived in our table and we then started to eat in silence. An hour after, we finished our meal, little talks about how good the food was and how full we both are. Witnessing the darkness outside, i offered Kierra a ride for her own safety which she didn't decline at all. After paying the bill, we went out of the restaurant and already on our way home.

Driving almost an hour, we finally arrived in front of their gate. Kierra then stood in front of the driver's door, waving goodbye and said thank you to me. I can only nod and smile at her, that prompted her to go inside. I started driving right away, but after a minute of driving i received a text. My phone's lockscreen lit up and i saw Kierra sending me a message. Parking the car by the side of the road, grabbing my phone to check the content of the message, i couldn't help but smile widely and smack my head lightly on the driving wheel with the phone held tightly by my hand, feeling weirdly happy and closing my eyes after reading the message.

The message, " I don't need a lot of people accepting this issues of mine, though what happened was accidental but it is not a coincidence that you found me that night.  Never believed in Fate but i just know it happened for a reason. So Wiliam Zeev, You are enough for me. Take care as you go home. Thank you for the meal."
