the room itself was quite nice it was more like a big hotel room with a bathroom and a small kitchen this was of course salazar slytherins personal living space while he taught here at hogwarts this would suit quite nicely for harry for the time being he placed hedwig's cage down on his desk and opened it
he then unpacked his things placing them away it wasn't his personal bedroom in rosencroft castle but it would do
i awoke quite early the following morning which meant i had quite a bit of time before breakfast i took a bath got dressed and studied my magic like my mother and godfather would expect when the time came he left the room and went down to breakfast sitting down the moment i did i was surrounded by slytherin students
"h-how did you open the door only the lord or heir of slytherin could do so professor snape himself told us so" draco asked
"i told you draco, conquest the victor receives the spoils, speaking of any rumors of anything slytherin left" i asked
"well there the chamber of secrets" draco said
"oh, i am intrigued go on" i said
"not much is known unfortunately, the last time the chamber was open someone died, in the girls bathroom, no one has gone in there since" draco said
"oh, maybe i will be taking a trip to that bathroom then" i said
"will you be looking for the chamber" draco asked
"yes but not now, i will when i claim lordship over my respective houses" i said he nodded after the finished breakfast they went to their first class potions as severus strutted in walking through and to the front of the class
"you are here to learn what is a subtle science and exact art that is potions making, as there is little foolish wand waving in my class, many of you will hardly believe it as magic, i don't expect you will fully understand the beauty of a softly simmering cauldron and it's shimmering fumes, the delicate power he liquid holds that creep through a human's veins, bewitching the mind and ensnaring the scenes, to those few of you that do understand i can teach you how to bottle fame brew glory and even put a stopper in death, if you aren't the usual bunch of dunderheads i am forced to teach" severus said all the slytherins listened intently with draco and me being the ones listening the most
with the exception of hermione the gryffindors however, looked like they were bored, harry saw that his godfather was eyeing one student in the back of the room in particular who was of course about to fall asleep the weasley he shook his head in disappointment how such a legendary house has fallen
"Mr. weasley" snape called causing ron to jump
"since you seem to think that listening is overrated then perhaps you can tell me what would i get if i added powdered root of asphodel to an infusion of wormwood, hmm" snape asked his eyes glistening he was not expecting an answer form the boy nor did he get one hermione had her hand in the air of course
"no answer, let us see, how about this then, where would you look if i told you to find a bezoar" snape asked still no answer ron looked like his brain was about to implode hermione was trying to stretch her hand even higher
"what is the difference between monkshood and wolfsbane, weasley" snape asked ron looked down at this point giving up at this point hermione was standing her hand as high in the air as she could get it poor girl snape would never call on her
"have you never opened a book before weasley, Mr. grindelwald, perhaps you can answer my questions" snape said
"yes of course professor, first powered root of asphodel and wormwood make a sleeping draught called the draught of living death, second a bezoar is fond from the stomach of a goat and it will save you from most poisons, and finally monkshood and wolfsbane are two of the same plant, miss granger please put your hand down, it is quite distracting" i said as hermione slowly lowered her hand in embarrassment
"very well done, Mr grindelwald, 10 points to slytherin" snape said as i smiled a very rare sight to see was a genuine smile on my face and the rest of the lest went extremely well
