AFTER NATE FINISHED HIS BEER, you changed back to your clothes and headed to the apartment where victor lived.

there was a guard in front of the apartment. nate volunteered to steal the keys from him, and he did successfully, teasing you again.

using the keys, he entered victor's room casually with you following cautiously.

you stopped in front of a familiar enclosed map while nate stopped to look at books. then, your ears perked up at the sound of a voice behind you and him. "hey, i see patience ain't your virtue."

"surprised to see us?"

victor emerged from the dark. instead of the formal suit, he was in a white tank top. he gestured to the shirley temples on top of his own mini bar. "not even slightly. i made you drinks."

"shirley temple? that's hilarious." nate said sarcastically.

"where's the bracelet?" you cut to the chase.

"it's in my first drawer there on my desk if you want it." victor answered.

"i'll get it." nate told you before you could go.

"i think you're here 'cause you got bigger fish to fry." victor assumed to which nate replied, "nah, we're just here for the bracelet."

you noticed a shelf filled with ancient artifacts. he was no ordinary thief, he was a treasure hunter.

"you done?"

"ooh, this is valuable." nate put a jade statue that was on victor's desk in his bag. "now i'm done."

victor scoffed and laughed at the same time.

"why the map? of everything in here that stopped you?" he was now talking to you.

"we planned to steal this ten years ago at a museum." you simply explained.

"it looks like it might be authentic."

"oh, not might be. it is."

"holy shit!" nate's fingers hovered over a line drawn on the map. "this line here shows the path ferdinand magellan took to sail around the world."

"first guy to do it. you know your history."

"only he wasn't the first guy to do it." nate continued. "magellan died in the philippines on a random beach somewhere–"
