YOU HID IN THE TRUNK of moncada's red vehicle for ten hours. it was uncomfortable hiding in something small with two other people, but you didn't have much of a choice.

nate apologized several times for hitting your injured shoulder while squirming in the trunk for a comfortable position and you had to remind him several times that it wasn't as painful as before.

back to the topic, you were placed at the back of a plane along with crates.

chloe had formed an alliance with moncada. their conversation earlier had given you intel that the plane was flying to the philippines, where the gold was truly stashed.

"that was literally the worst ten hours of my life."

now, it was time to get out of the trunk and get what you came for then leave without being seen.

"you want to get caught? keep talking."

you snuck towards the door that led to some room or rather the villain's lair.

upon entering, you found moncada dead on the floor, his throat slashed by a knife.

"oh, good job, jo." sully said sarcastically.

so, it was a betrayal.

nate was yet to see the dead body, closing the door. when he did, he cursed. "oh, shit."

he approached the body and looked at sully, who was standing next to a messy table. "it's hard to find a good partner in this game, huh?"

"well, maybe you'll learn to appreciate me a little bit more."

"not a chance." you scoffed.

"i may be a liar, but i'm not a murderer." sully countered, grabbing the map off the messy table and shoving it in a better-looking case. "alright, let's find some parachutes."

"parachutes? what?" nate asked stupidly.

"unless you know a better way to jump out of a plane? no? i thought so." sully remarked sassily.

there were a bunch of emergency parachutes right around the corner and you tossed them to them, not before saying, "here they are. think fast."

once you got what you came here for, you snuck back out, going through the crates at the side towards the open platform.

then, nate saw braddock.

seeing braddock made nate think of nothing, but to avenge his brother.

you noticed nate glaring at her like daggers.

"nate."

"(name), i can't let her get away with it."

"hey, don't even think about it. this is not a place to pick a fight, okay? put one of these on. let's go now." sully half whispered half yelled.

"don't you want to avenge sam?" he ignored sully, still talking to you.

"i do. i really do, but now is not the time."

at that moment, rage pierced him to the core. he didn't listen to you nor sully. he made you hold his parachute before squaring up to braddock.

"hey! did you kill my brother?"

sully shook his head.

the henchmen withdrew their guns which braddock stopped with a lift of her finger.

"i said did you kill my brother? sam drake?"

nate threatened to pull the single handle that would release the parachute of all the crates.

sully quickly and tightly strapped on his parachute, knowing this wasn't going to end well. you focused on nate, scared to death at what was going to happen if he pulled that thing.

sully showed up in the midst of the dangerous situation. "nate! pickpocket girl! c'mon!"

nate pulled the handle, sully pulled his. sully parachuted away with the map. meanwhile, the crates started to move one by one.

you tried to give nate his parachute back, but was blocked by a crate.

nate managed to dodge the crates as well as the bullets the henchmen were shooting at him. you were still at the side, avoiding the fight and the crates, protecting the parachutes.

the next thing you knew, his foot got stuck on one of the crates and it dragged him. he aimlessly reached for something to hold onto, but was left adrift.

"oh, god!"

"nate!" as you cried out his name, a crate pushed you and you too fell out.

you had to unfortunately sacrifice one of the parachutes, so you wouldn't fall all the way down.

you saw nate dangling, unconscious. it didn't take long until he woke up and began panicking again.

nate tried to unstick his foot.

you would help of course if it weren't for the strong air pressure. it was difficult to move since you were holding a crate with one hand and the only parachute you had with the other. and most especially since, even though it wasn't that painful anymore, you still had an injured shoulder.

"okay, i got it– woah!" when he unstuck his foot, he tumbled to the other crates.

you looked down to see if he had fallen, but thank god he didn't. when you looked back up, a henchman  was there, attacking you and also attempting to steal the parachute from you.

"get your own fucking parachute!"

your fingers started to slip.

nate popped up right behind him as if he sensed you were in trouble. he tugged the guy aside.

"nate, just go to the platform!"

"(name), hold on! i'll be there!"

you couldn't hold on any longer, so you slipped and fell for real, not before hugging the parachute to guarantee that it wouldn't be separated from you.
