one year later. —————————————
spring had approached. like a fizzy tonic, a slow overflowing bottle of bubbling joy. spreading and spilling its contents consisting of vibrant colours onto the land which was once covered in ice.
warm complexions of orange began painting the landscape as the sun rose from its slumber. birds chirped, kitsune foxes yawned and flowers bloomed in await of the new season.
" y/n get up, breakfast is almost ready."
ayaka had a tiresome look on her face. she really had to deal with this everyday, quite unfortunate if you ask me.
" goodness, you're so lazy."
my eyes slowly adjusted to the amount of natural light flooding into my room, looking up to see the face of my sister. did i mention she looked a tad annoyed already?
" good morning ayaya."
" good morning to you too, now hurry along would you. i said breakfast is ready."
" yeah yeah give me a minute."
i arose from the mattress, hurriedly taking a shower and changing into my usual attire before strolling down the hallways into the dining room.
i grabbed a piece of toast in my mouth, not wanting to dine with my siblings so early during the day.
" where do you think your going?"
" duty calls ayaka! tell ayato that i'll be back in time for dinner and it better be fried tofu or else i'm not coming back!"
" but- breakfast."
the hustling footsteps faded away. leaving a silence to engulf the room. a silence which you could practically hear a pin drop.
a heavy sigh followed ayaka's words. at times she wishes the yashiro commission would take a fall just so she could dawdle around with her siblings.
sunshine greeted me with its open arms, the feeling of warm rays caressing my face gently. a slight breeze was adrift making my hair tangle subtlety.
i made myself towards one of my most liked spots.

" bark bark woof!"
komore teahouse lay in the middle of the city. always waiting for my arrival. taroumaru obviously being the adorable little shiba he is, this place being one of my favourite spots to well...chill.
" taroumaru! hey boy!"
" woof woof!"
" who's a good doggie, you are!"
his fur was soft and delicate to the touch. the ex shuumatsuban dog no longer part of the organisation but rather the boss of the tea house.
a couple of other people were present in the building but didn't seem to mind me and the shibu inu's out of character convention.
though a certain indistinct blonde hair individual had a dastardly smile plastered on his face, making his way slowly towards us.
" y/n-san! goodmorning. here to see me, are we?"
" i was actually here to see taroumaru but i guess it's nice to see you too, thoma."
light chuckles escaped the both of us. taroumaru wagging his tail in excitement, seeing the two us interact.
" aw man, i thought you would be absolutely thrilled to see me!"
" well, ayato would be more than thrilled to see you!"
" no, no, no y/n-san! y'know the last time he saw me, he dragged me into the estate to try some of this weird looking sushi.."
" hm, and..?"
" it was absolutely atrocious! who puts tapioca in sushi?"
tiny giggles erupted from my mouth, i simply couldn't control myself. this was far too hilarious. even taroumaru was giddily barking.
" i apologise!"
brows furrowing, thoma placed a hand on his temple and rubbed it softly then gave me a smile in which i returned.
" it's alright! my objective was to make you laugh after all. i haven't seen you laugh like that in ages."
" hm i suppose i haven't laughed so hard in awhile. how the times change. thank you thoma, i truly appreciate it."
" and you too tarou."
" woof woof bark!"
" y/n-san."
" is something the matter?"
" nothing. i just wanted to ask you something."
" please, go ahead."
" well...would you like to see some stray dogs? i've been looking after them for awhile and i'm sure they'll be happy to meet you!"
" really?!"
my eyes lit up like ones of a toddlers. pure excitement fulfilling me from head to toe.
thoma chuckled. the man never got to spend much time with the kamisato siblings however ayato being an exception that is. he too was excited and truly enjoyed seeing y/n's other side when she's not trying to be so polite and professional all the time.
" so it's a deal then!"
i tugged at one of the gold tassels of thoma's clothing, starting to get impatient by the minute.
" what are we waiting for then?"
a genuine smile cast upon thoma's face. it was absolutely contagious.
" let's head out!"
i gave the shiba one last head pat before stepping outside the tea house, missing taroumaru's delicate fur already. thoma following shortly behind me.
" i'll lead the way milady."
