The next day is completely uneventful. Kiki doesn't show up again, and now I'm starting to wonder.

Who's Elodie?

Why was Kiki calling her name?

I just sit in my Art class and ponder.

"Hey, you good Lara? You haven't even started drawing yet", Nick taps my shoulder.

"Yeah, yeah it's nothing. I'm all good"

I glance over Nick's shoulder and see that he's halfway through drawing his island scenery, then I look back at mine and realize that I'm just tapping at a blank piece of paper.

I bite my lip and then start drawing something.

"What is your island, Lara?" My teacher comes around.

"Uh... Hawaii?" I reply.

"Ok, Nick, what is your drawing?"

"It's Bora Bora" he responds with confidence.

I look at him, frazzled.

"Bora Bora?" I whisper.

"To be honest, I don't even know. I just looked at the board and then searched up photos of 'pretty islands'" he snickers.

I look at him and start laughing. Some people shoot a dirty look at me from across the room.

Someone interrupts my laughing, sliding down next to me and tapping my shoulder.

"Hey hun", the voice says all cheery.

I look over, and it's Lea. Great.

"Wow. Amazing drawing you got there", she says sarcastically.

"What do you want, Lea?" I sigh.

"Nothing"

"No, I'm serious, what do you want?"

"Again, nothing"

"Everytime you talk to me, you want something. So, I'm asking again. What. Do. You. Want."

"Ok, fine. Madi tells me that you're involved in some dirty shit, and she wants to talk to you", she gives in.

"What about?"

"I've literally got no clue. She just told me to give you a message to come talk to her after school, and apparently, you have to bring your math buddies with you"

"Go tell her that I'm not interested, and she can go back crying to her mommy if she wants", I roll my eyes.

Lea rolls her eyes at me, and gets up.

"Wait Lea!"

"What?"

"I might go, but just maybe. Tell Madi to text me what she wants from me, and then I'll consider going. She has my number"

"Ok..." she responds hesitantly.

I look back at Nick, who's eying me strangely.

"What was that about?" he asks.
