Author's Note:

In this scenario, you are shorter than Haewon.

_____

It is 10 PM. Knowing you, Haewon thought that you would still be awake by this time. She excitedly entered the front door. It has been a while since the last time that she has been in the house that you two co-owned. The past few weeks have been hectic and wearying for her. Those weeks were dedicated to group promotion, so the schedule was loaded with activities. She can barely talk to you. It also required her to stay in the dormitory of NMIXX for convenience purposes. As the leader, she was the one who wakes her members up, prepares their meals, and makes sure that everyone is ready to go prior to the pick up time.

Living away from you gave Haewon a harder time. She considers you as her oasis. Without your presence, she found herself having a more difficult time in dealing with her stressful situations. So, she was really looking forward to this day.

"Y/N? I'm home!" Haewon shrieked in excitement, hurriedly taking her shoes off and putting them on the shoe rack. She was anticipating that you would run to her, wrap her into your warm embrace, and rain kisses all over her face. Being deprived for your affection for weeks, Haewon was longing for it.

However, that wasn't the case tonight. She frowned upon failing to see a sign of you coming for her and fulfilling her longing anytime soon. She thought that you might be upstairs and that you were unable to hear her.

Haewon carried her duffel bags with her again, making her way to the stairs. As soon as she reached the second floor, she went to your shared room. She found the door closed, so she hung one of her duffel bags over her shoulder to open the door.

On the other hand, you were asleep while seated on the chair in front of the study table. You fell asleep while studying for your oral examination for a major subject tomorrow. Your head was resting on top of your reviewers. Thankfully, you were only recapping everything up when you drifted to sleep. Aside from being a student, you are also a part-time employee.

You were startled by the rustling that you can hear from the other side of the door. You grabbed the baseball bat that was hanging on your wall. You had this since you were a former baseball varsity player when you were in middle school until high school. You stealthily made your way near the door.

You were ready to swing the bat to hit whoever will be entering the room.

"J-Jagiya! It's me, Haewon!" The person exclaimed, putting her hands up in a desperate attempt to defend herself, just in case that it was already too late.

That made you drop your bat instantly, and your eyes widened in horror. You nearly strike your girlfriend.

"Haewon? You're home? For real?" You rubbed your eyes, making sure that they aren't playing tricks on you since you just woke up.

"Yes, I am here for real. I came home with the expectation of being welcomed by your affection. Instead, I was greeted by your aggression." She whined, pouting afterwards.

"I'm sorry, jagi. I didn't know that you would be home, so I wasn't expecting anyone. I thought that there was an intruder. I didn't mean to scare you off." You quavered, holding both of her hands while giving her an apologetic look.

"I'm assuming that you've just woken up." Haewon mumbled in which you hummed in response. Then, you let go of her hands and buried your face on the crook of her neck. She ran her fingers through your strands and wrapped her other arm around your waist. "Guess that my intuition is wrong. I thought that you were still awake, and I wanted to surprise you. I should've just let you know that I was on my way home. I apologize for waking you up and alarming you." She spoke softly, planting a kiss on your head before taking a look at you.

"It seems like you're stressed out." She mumbled with the corners of her lips turning downwards, noting the rigidness of your shoulder when she rested her hand on it.

You lifted your head and nodded your head in agreement, sighing heavily afterwards.

"I have an oral examination for a major subject tomorrow. I need to get the three answers correct to pass. I am getting worried since the coverage was from the first lesson up to the last for this grading period. It was overwhelming... I am afraid that I might get a mental block."

"You have reviewed it already, haven't you?" She asked, cupping your cheek with her hand which was on your shoulder earlier.

"I'm done... it is just that-" Haewon sensed where this was heading to, so she cut you off by smashing her lips against yours. You shared a slow and gentle kiss until she pulled away.

"Be gentle with yourself, jagi. You are doing such a good job. Besides, didn't you undergo the same thing in the previous grading period, then you passed? I believe that you would ace that oral examination again. No matter what happens though, I would still be proud of you because I know that you did your best."

A smile subconsciously formed on your lips upon hearing those words from her. It got you thinking about what you have done to deserve Oh Haewon.

Meanwhile, Haewon found herself smiling as well with that sight of you. She was relieved that you were loosening up.

"There you go. Let's keep that up. I know what exactly I can do to retain that or to make you feel even better." She kissed the corner of your lips before detaching herself. She took off her duffel bag and pulled you towards the bed.

Haewon laid by her back then guided your head to rest on her chest before cradling you into her arms again. You melted into her embrace right away.

"Gosh, I missed you... I missed this." She whispered, reaching for your hand then brushing her thumb against your knuckles. Your heart fluttered with all these.

"I missed you too, Haewon. It has been really tough for me without you by my side."

"The same goes for me, jagi." You looked up to her and found her gazing down at you. "If you just know how much I had been looking forward to this day... that I will be back home with you, I was babbling non-stop back in the dorm. You can actually verify it from the members, especially from Jinsol." She chuckled.

"By the way, jagi, it is my day off tomorrow. I know that you must attend your class for the obvious reason, but as for your part-time job, is it possible for you to take a leave?"

You knew that you could definitely do so, since your supervisor was lenient around you because of the program that you took for college. However, your urge to mess with Haewon took over.

"I am not sure about that." Haewon groaned and pouted.

"Hopefully, you can. I don't want to be selfish, but I'm yearning to have a quality time with you and to take you out on a date." She mumbled, brushing her lips against the crown of your head. "Then, if you have done such a great job in your oral examination; I might as well reward you for that." She wiggled her brows.

Your ears seemingly perked up, and your eyes sparkled with the mention of a reward.

"I'll see what I can do."
