For this scenario, you are the seventh member of IVE.

You were slumped lazily on the floor of the dance practice room. It was your break from the practice for the group's upcoming comeback. After Yujin commended you all for your hard work and saw to it that you all had your water bottles with you, you were all in your own worlds.

Everyone was minding their own business, making most of the short time that you all have for yourselves.

It was until your manager got into the room, looking ecstatic. He made his way to you.

"I have great news for everyone, especially to you, Y/N!" He said cheerfully, earning expectant looks from the members, meanwhile; Yujin was already looking at you proudly.

"So, Y/N is chosen to take part on a special stage for a music festival!"

Your eyes widened and your mouth hung open upon hearing this. The girls quickly got up from their seats and cheered you on.

Later on, you learned that you would be performing on an acoustic special stage, specifically.

As far as you've heard, you'll be working with five other artists coming from different companies. From what you've known, it would be AESPA, ITZY, LE SSERAFIM, NMIXX, and STAYC. As for the exact members who will be participating, you have no idea yet... although you have a feeling on who it would be coming from NMIXX.

You just wish that you'll go wrong.

As for your special stage, it will be a medley of 'Dream' by Baekhyun and Suzy, 'All In' by MONSTA X, and 'Error' by VIXX. It seemed to be telling about the cycle of admiring someone, actually being with them, and breaking up with them.

How playful fate could be. These songs narrate your and Haewon's love story perfectly.

Each song would be sung by a specific pair of vocalists. It would be this day in which you will find out about the artists that you'll be working with.

You arrived in the studio where you are bound to meet with them. You gripped on the strap of your padded bag for your acoustic guitar and took a deep breath before turning the door open.

You took a peek, and you met the gazes of Lia from ITZY and of Karina from AESPA.

So, you quickly got in and bowed in respect, saying your greetings before looking across the room.

You found Yunjin from LE SSERAFIM and Sumin from STAYC. You bowed at them and blurted out your greetings for them as well.

You set your guitar aside and sat next to Lia before taking a look around the room, trying to figure out who was sent as the representative of NMIXX.

"It's Haewon." Lia seemingly has read your mind. You turned to her and found her handing a drink over to you. "I believe that she knew who she would be collaborating with. The drinks that she got for everyone seemed to be those of their favorites."

You looked at the drink. She wasn't wrong about it as it was your favorite.

"Thank you."

"Why is it me whom you are thanking? It wasn't my treat." Lia chuckled.

You just smiled sheepishly and scratched the back of your neck. Even if you used to be in the same agency, it makes sense why Lia is clueless of your past with Haewon as your relationship with the latter was kept as a secret for obvious reasons.

But then, the management was eventually made aware about your relationship with Haewon. It is you who made the sacrifice of giving up your slot in the agency and chance to debut.

You complied with the conditions despite them painting you as the villain in Haewon's eyes.

You left JYP Entertainment in late 2019. It took you nearly a year to get back on track in pursuing your dream to become an idol. You needed time to recover from the break-up and separation from your previous agency which was actually your top choice in terms of labels.

You found your new home in late 2020.

You were snapped back to reality as the door swung open. It was Haewon who also had a padded bag for her acoustic guitar hanging over her shoulder.

Your gaze met hers, and you were the one to break eye contact quickly. You got up, bowing and saying greetings as well as expressing your gratitude.

She was as dazzling as ever— oh, Y/N, what was that? You've moved on... haven't you? Oh, who am I kidding?

You could just laugh at how smitten you are with her after all these years.

Haewon also bowed at you before sitting on the seat next to you as it is the only one which was vacant.

You were thankful that as Haewon came into the room, you all got into business almost immediately. The director started with his discussion.

A little while later, he started talking about the pairings and the song assignments among the pairs. You could only shut your eyes upon hearing that you are paired up with Haewon, and you are going to sing 'Error' with her.

The universe must've been playing tricks on me, huh?

You thought.

"Are you free today?" Haewon asked as you all have been dismissed from the meeting. It ended with the director telling you to go through your individual parts and to polish it with your respective partners before setting up the group rehearsals.

"Yes. I have nothing else scheduled aside from this." You said in response.

"Good." She uttered, looking over to you. "Let's not give each other a hard time, and let's get this done as soon as possible. I also don't have anything else scheduled for today."

It somehow pained your heart, hearing how she was seemingly so eager to get things done, so that she has nothing to do with you anymore. Honestly, you knew that she couldn't be blamed.

It's so awkward to work with your ex-lover, especially with the theme that this song talks about. Plus, with what she had known, the feeling of having nothing to do with you is completely valid.

You know that it mustn't affect you anymore, but deep down — you also knew that you were just lying to yourself if you told that you hadn't. You were genuinely all in for her. You still are.

Haewon paused, glancing at her watch. "I believe that we could at least get through with the distribution of the lyrics, so that we have something to work on separately until we have the time to rehearse together."

"That's a good idea." That was all you can say.
