As Haewon looked down to your hand which was holding hers, you could swear that you've seen her face flushed, and her lips twitched a bit as it seemed that she was preventing the corners of her lips from fully curving upwards before she looked elsewhere and pulled her hand away from yours.

She started to fan her face with her other hand.

"A-alright then, a-as you say so."

It was the first time that you heard her stutter. You've known Haewon as someone who was so confident and secure of herself. You've known Haewon as someone who would have no trouble in straightforwardly voicing out her thoughts and delivering what she wanted to say. You could say all that as you witnessed that whenever she had to deliver a speech in front of a large number of people, including the higher ups in the school administration — she doesn't tremble nor stumble over her words. So, it was interesting for you to see her getting this flustered around you and making her stumble over her words.

You could feel your heart pounding against your ribcage.

Silence momentarily took over as you savored that moment.

"How come that even your stutter could make my heart pound like this?" You foolishly voiced your thoughts out which made Haewon look at you with widened eyes and reddened cheeks.

"Excuse me? W-what did you just say?"

"Here you go again..." You mumbled, biting your lower lip and rubbing onto your chest, particularly around the area where your heart is located.

You were desperately trying to calm yourself and prevent yourself from putting yourself into shame further. So, you did some breathing exercises and soothed yourself. In which, you eventually succeeded. You released your lower lip and looked at her, shaking your head.

"Don't mind it. I... If you heard everything that I've just said, I apologize for them. They were... inappropriate, miss President."

"I heard it all, and you're forgiven. I wish that you didn't regret saying those words though." Your heart began to pound crazily once more upon hearing the last part. It was only a mumble, so you were uncertain if it was real. For you, the possibility of you going delusional and hearing things is still higher than the possibility of Haewon having interest in you.

You are nowhere near her level nor her rumored girlfriend in no time, Lily Morrow.

Lily is the president of the performing arts club in the school and the treasurer of the student council. So, she gets to spend a lot of time with Haewon. She has been courting Haewon for months. It would be no surprise if the latter would eventually agree to be her girlfriend.

Aside from Lily being good-looking, she is undeniably smart and talented. She is always a part of the top 10 of the honor roll every grading period. She can sing and dance. It is in singing that she excels the most. Her voice sounds perfect with Haewon's voice — you knew that due to the duet that they performed during one of the major events which were held in your school last year. Their chemistry and harmony are unmatched.

They are such a match.

You were snapped out from your train of thought with Seeun snapping her fingers right in front of you.

"Oh, you are finally back to Earth! I need to go now, Y/N. Jayun arrived, and we needed to go to our designated van. It's already here. By the way, do you still need the sweater that you told me about last night? I've put it on the top of my stuff, so I can easily give it to you once you ask for it."

Seeun was about to kneel down and unzip her luggage when Haewon stopped her.

"Don't bother, miss Yoon. You might need it. As her partner, I came prepared. I got an extra sweater with me. From this point, let me take good care of your friend." She spoke, taking something out of her duffel bag and handing it over.

You were mystified upon seeing its design. It was the same Off-White light gray sweater that you have been borrowing from Seeun. You have never seen Haewon wear this before.

Seeun looked at you. Then, she grinned cheekily.

Oh, boy, she is up to no good.

You thought.

"Aight, take good care of her, Wonie." She paused and stepped closer to you, giving you a kiss on your cheek. It startled you and made you nearly cuss at your best friend. But then, you remembered that Haewon was just in front of you, you just pressed your lips together instead. As you were looking down, you saw that Haewon rolled her eyes.

"I'll see you later, Y/N!" Seeun shouted as she waved her hand at you for the last time before getting inside of the van.

You watched Seeun settle down and slide the door close before you turned to Haewon.

"By the way, Haewon..."

She just hummed in response.

"Thank you."

To which, she just responded with a nod.

It didn't take long for everyone who was assigned in that van to be completed and for it to leave. After all, most of your classmates are generally diligent and obedient. It is pretty expected that teenagers may be goofy and naughty at times, especially prior to the start of the classes. That explains them being chaotic and loud. However, once instructed and reprimanded; they are quick to obey.

The van where you and Haewon were assigned arrived shortly after the first van had left.

"Put the sweater on. I heard that the AC was strong." Haewon said in a calm yet authoritative voice as the both of you were in line to get inside of the van. Before you can even utter a word, she swiftly took the duffel bag from your hand and your backpack off you. She carried them for you.

"I'll hold these for a moment."

You were left with no choice but to wear the sweater quickly. Afterwards, you brushed your fingers through your hair to fix it before you turned to Haewon and reached for your stuff that she was holding for you.

Even then, Haewon refused to return them to you. She let you get inside of the van first. Then, she proceeded to organize your bags altogether within your space before she sat down next to you. You couldn't help but blush.

"Why are you doing all these?" You asked her in a low voice.

"Like I told your friend, I'll take good care of you, miss Y/L/N." She nonchalantly replied, unrolling the sleeves of her button-down shirt.

"Just call me Y/N, Haewon."

"Okay, Y/N."

She simply said your name, yet it made you feel a lot of things. You felt the fluttering of your heart and butterflies in your stomach.

You just looked out the window at the moment that the van set out on its journey.

Along the way, you leaned your head against the window and started to doze off. You did not get to sleep enough last night since Seeun forced you to be on a call with her as she was packing her things, so that she wouldn't get drowsy.

On top of that, you were genuinely having a hard time drifting into sleep with all the thoughts that you were having about Haewon.

Little did you know, Haewon took notice of you dozing off. She elicited a chuckle which caught you off guard.

Then, she gently held your head and rested it on her shoulder. Afterwards, she wrapped her arm around your shoulder and rested her own head on yours.

"Not just because I'm generally cold, that means that I'm heartless. You could lean on me. You'll get neck pain from what you were doing earlier." Her voice was softer than usual. She probably noticed that too as she paused, clearing her throat and fiddling with the sleeve of her sweater that you were wearing.

"You're my responsibility right now, so I couldn't bear the thought of you being in pain under my care."
