"Take good care on your way home, Jinni! Thank you for today, I had a lot of fun." You uttered with your radiant smile as you faced Jinni after getting into your shared home with your girlfriend, Haewon.

"You're welcome, Y/N. Thank you as well. If you didn't agree to hang out with me, I would probably be dying out of boredom after all. You saved me from it. Besides, I badly needed someone to talk with... about you know." She chuckled, looking at you knowingly.

"I guess that I will see you some other time again, Y/N. I hope that you won't mind."

"Oh, not at all. You would have to update me with how it ends up, aight?"

Jinni smiled in response to that. You exchanged farewells and wrapped it up with a hug. You waved to Jinni as she pulled out of the driveway.

The smile on your lips was still there. It does not seem that it will go off anytime soon even after you close the door behind you. You had such a great time.

It was your day off. Actually, it landed on the same day as the girls' day off. However, all of the girls except for Jinni already had plans on how to spend theirs. You were actually looking forward to spending this day with Haewon, however; your girlfriend happened to have some errands to run. It was kind of frustrating because the two of you barely had time for each other over the past few weeks. Yet, there was still something else up in her mind when the two of you were given the opportunity to catch up with each other. But then, you understand her. This could be the only time that she has the chance to get those tasks done.

Guess that you would just have to keep yourself content from last night's cuddles with your girl as you wait for her to return home.

It was early in the morning when Haewon left to run errands. You were unable to drift back into sleep ever since she bid her farewell and promised to make the most out of the time together as soon as she made her way back home. You cannot help but to feel bored, so when Jinni invited you for a hangout — you didn't hesitate to accept her offer.

You thought that it would be better to spend the rest of the morning and early afternoon with her rather than spending it by yourself. You could say that Jinni was one of your closest friends in NMIXX, and she clearly knew about your preferences. She knew what exactly she could do to keep the day enjoyable for the both of you. After all, she used to date you. She was your ex-girlfriend, so it wasn't shocking that she knew you that well.

Your relationship with Jinni ended without hard feelings. It is just that things were not working for the two of you during that time, and both of you thought that you would be better as best of friends just as how the two of you have been prior to being in a romantic relationship. It was such a waste to throw off a wonderful friendship just because of a failed relationship. So, that is why the two of you were able to maintain your closeness with each other. Of course, it wasn't immediate, but you get the point.

It is safe to say that you weren't wrong with your initial thought that spending time with her was much better than spending it all by yourself.

You trailed your way towards the shoe rack after kicking your shoes off your feet. You found a pair that wasn't there when you left earlier today. That was actually the pair of shoes that Haewon used when she went to run errands.

Your eyes widened upon realization.

"There you are."

You drew your eyes towards the direction where the voice was coming from. Your girlfriend was staring at you blankly while she was sitting on the couch with her legs crossed and her arms folded across her chest. Upon closer look, her eyes hold a combination of anger and disbelief in them.

On the table in front of her, you found all your favorite snacks from the convenience store. They were still untouched.

"Do you have any idea on how worried I was when you were not picking up my calls?"

Your eyebrows furrowed. "You called?"

You couldn't help but to blurt out as you checked on your phone, finding out that you had more than ten missed calls from Haewon which had a gap of fifteen minutes each attempt. That could only mean that she has been home for nearly three hours by now.

"Oh my, I am so sorry. I did not intend to leave you unanswered, it is just that-"

"You were so lost in the moment with Jinni, weren't you? You probably didn't hear me calling when you were all over her while you were in the arcade and all giddy when she got you a stuffed toy from the claw machine." Haewon scoffed, rolling her eyes.

"You also probably didn't hear me calling when you were all busy chatting with her while you were dining with her in your go-to tteokbokki restaurant every now and then. Look, numerous NSWERs posted about the two of you on various platforms. That is why I knew about all these."

You were speechless. Your lips were parted, but no words were coming out from your mouth.

"I was looking forward to finish all those errands that I had to do, only to find out that you were having the time of your life with Jinni. Tell me honestly, what is up with the two of you? Did you find your way back into each other, huh?"

With that, you seemed to regain your ability to speak.

"No, my love. It isn't like that. My feelings for Jinni are long gone — she is simply my friend. We are just friends. I wouldn't be dating you if I was still seeing her beyond that. Besides, didn't you know that Jinni was planning to confess to Sullyoon? The stuffed toy wasn't for me. It reminded her of Sullyoon, and Jinni was planning to give it to her. The topic that we had in the tteokbokki restaurant was all about the ways that she could try in confessing to Sullyoon. She was asking for my advice because I have been through that. I was the one who confessed to you, wasn't I?" You paused.

Upon hearing this, Haewon visibly softened. You took this as the cue to make your way to her and occupy the space next to her, heaving a sigh — you carefully removed her arms from being crossed to hold onto her hands. You caressed them, locking eyes with your girlfriend.

"I am so sorry for being careless. I got carried away with Jinni's story time about her and Sullyoon. It led me to lose track of the time. It is just that. Jinni and I, whatever we had back then... it's all in the past now." You moved one of your hands away from hers and cupped her cheek with it, brushing your thumb against her skin.

"You are all whom I want to be with in the present and even in the future, Haewon."
