Days after Nora and Wong decided to find Mordo together, Nora was about to explode. She was now completely avoiding Stephen, and he definitely knew something was going on. He tried to talk to her a few times, but she always pretended to be busy with something else. He even asked if he was supposed to apologize for something, which made her feel even worse.

But is was finally about to be over. Wong taught her everything she needed to know about location spells, and the few tries in the mirror dimension were successful. She’d probably faint after the spell, but it would work.

Now, she only had to do it for real, and completely alone.

“I already have a spell looking for you. I’ll know when you get there,” he explained while waiting for her to get into the mirror dimension. “If you don’t feel good, stop and come back. We’ll train more.”

“I’ll be fine.” There was no way to know, but she wouldn’t stop the spell. She’d keep it going even if blood started falling from her eyes again.

Nora smiled and entered the mirror dimension alone. Wong stayed there, waiting for her to be done. As she was setting up everything, Stephen entered and stood next to Wong.

“Is there something going on with Nora ?” he asked, clearly concerned.

“Why ?”

“She’s acting different.”

Wong looked up from his book and shrugged. “It’s Nora. You haven’t known her long enough. One day she’s fine, the next she’s…” he glanced at the spot where she disappeared a few minutes earlier. “It’s Nora. She’s unstable.”

Unstable ?” Nora shouted.

“She’s avoiding me,” Stephen kept going.

“She’s always been avoiding you. I don’t think she likes you,” Wong replied. Nora had no idea what he was trying to do, but he was doing it so well that she was starting to believe the words coming out of him.

“You’d tell me if there was something else ?”

“No.”

Stephen stared at Wong for a few seconds. “Well, thank you for your help, Wong. Very helpful.”

He left, and Nora almost opened a portal to go back to the real world and tell him the truth. He already knew something was wrong, and now he thought that she hated him because she was unstable. Where did that even come from ? She wasn’t unstable. Now she’d have to explain that too whenever the truth would come out.

As soon as she started the spell, waves of fire escaped her body, twirling around her. She focused on the pin and closed her eyes. She needed this spell to be destroyed, and she didn’t care how much it would scare anyone on the other side. Nora was only hoping that Mordo was sleeping and wouldn’t see his spells burning around him. And that he wouldn’t think of touching the fire.

Slowly, the flames around Nora moved in front of her. One by one, they linked themselves to each other, creating the distinct form of a portal being opened. So far, it was almost similar to Wong’s spells. With a little fire added. If everything was working correctly, the spell on the other side was now burning to let her through.

The more she was focusing on keeping up her own spell, the more the fire was getting out of control. Flames were escaping the portal to burn everything around her, leaving Nora in a state of sheer panic. She wasn’t used to using so much fire, and her body was feeling the effects of such a spell. She was getting increasingly tired, and her legs were shaking.
