Nora only had two hours of sleep, but she was feeling much better already. Most of the dark thoughts were gone, and she was seeing things much clearer now. She didn’t even remember the last time she slept without having a nightmare. These were the most relaxing two hours of sleep she’d had in months. Probably since the incident with her finger. 

She didn’t even remember why she kept thinking that Stephen needed help in space. He was powerful enough to protect himself, even saving Stark in the process and coming back unharmed. Of course she was worried, but space was a scary thing. She knew nothing about it. She was sure of one thing more than anything else. Stephen Strange wouldn’t let that Thanos guy get anything from him. 

They had time. 

“I know you’re not sleeping.”

Nora immediately opened her eyes and looked around to check if anyone noticed that Wanda was with her. She was in a much better state, but she needed someone to know she didn’t start the fight, if there was one. 

“I can read your mind, you know. I don’t want to fight.” Nora sat up and crossed her legs so that Wanda could sit. “You’re sure we have time ?”

“Yeah. I’d be scared if I was Thanos.”

“I saw what your friend did,” Wanda said after a few seconds. “In the snow.”

“Can you not get in my head ?” Nora asked, slightly irritated. 

“You were having a nightmare. Vision said you needed to rest so I kept it away.”

“Oh. Thanks, I guess.” That explained the restful sleep. But it didn’t make it any better that someone could just wander inside her mind. 

Wanda quickly hurried back to Vision when she noticed that he was in pain. Nora looked at them for a while, wondering how someone could just be with a robot. Vision seemed nice, but he was still a robot. These people really were something else.

Now that Wanda blew her cover and she couldn’t pretend to be asleep anymore, Nora checked her phone. Pepper was letting her know that all journalists were gone from her parents’ house as well as Ethan’s restaurant. Christine wanted to know if there was anything new. Lance texted her to know how she was doing with all the media coverage, and Nora had to say it was rather nice that someone thought about it. 

She opened both of Ethan’s texts and winced. He was clearly angry.

Saw you on TV. Whatever is going on, stop that shit and come home. You’re not an Avenger. You’ll give the parents a heart attack if you die.

Dad said you want to go to space ! Are you out of your fucking mind ? Come home, it’s not funny. Mom’s crying.

She didn’t know what to reply to that. She hated that her mother was crying because of her, but she couldn’t just turn back and go home.

We’re scared for you. 

Don’t be. I’m with the Avengers, nothing bad will happen to me. 

I’ll have it written on your grave. 
Promise me if anything goes wrong, you’ll burn everything and everyone and come back.
