Leah

"Oh Leah!" I heard a bright bubbly voice shout.

Nope. Not today.

I was currently in the middle of my messy room trying to do some type of spring cleaning. Like honestly you don't know how much stuff you actually have until you have to clean.

"Leah!" I heard the voice shout once more, but closer.

I need to hide.

Because I know exactly what that voice wants.

I looked around the room frantically. Where can I hide? There were huge piles of clothes on the ground, but she would find me under those easily.

So where!?

I heard footsteps approaching.

I had no time left.

So I dived right under my bed as my last resort.

And just in the nick of time because a second later my bedroom door flew open.

"Leah Tate, I know you're in here." Kayla's voice echoed through my room.

Let's hope she doesn't check under my bed.

"Don't think you can hide from me." She sang as she rustled through my piles of clothing. Told you she would go there first. "Oh this is cute. I might keep this for myself."

She checked my closet and bathroom and even under my desk. "Maybe you aren't here." She muttered to herself. Just as I thought she was going to walk out of my room in defeat, I felt a strong pull on my leg pulling me out from under my bed.

I let out a small yelp at the movement. "You honestly need a better hiding place." My dark blonde friend said.

"In my defense it was good enough for the amount of time I had." I defended as I stood up from the floor.

"I knew you were under there from the moment I walked in." She said.

I gave her a questioning look. "No, you didn't. You checked everywhere else before under the bed."

"I decided to play along, but your bright pink fuzzy doughnut socks don't help your hiding situation." Kayla teased.

I glanced down at my socks. Damn it.

"Listen, if you are getting rid of anything cute. I'll take the donations." Kayla said taking a seat on the chair next to my desk.

I tossed her a pair of super old socks that had cats on them. "You can take those."

'Ew, definitely not." She said tossing it to my trash pile. "Sooooo." She continued.

"Yes Kayla? What is it?" I asked keeping my attention to the monster closet in front of me. I picked up a hideous fluffy pink shirt. Who in their right mind bought this?

"I really miss my best friend and would love to hang out with you today." She said sadly.

I turned around to see Kayla having a genuinely sad look on her face.

I mean it is true we haven't hung out as often as we usually do and I do miss my best friend more than I actually realized. It just so much has been going on and I haven't even included my best friend and that made me feel horrible.

I ran up to her and captured Kayla into my arms giving her the tightest hug I can muster up. "I'm sorry. I've missed you too."

She returned my hug even tighter. "So you'll make it up to me?"
