"Ma'am, naku, kami na po diyan!"

I am already finished washing the dishes. I insisted in doing it but the people who are assigned to this hesitated to let me do it. Since the restaurant is full of our dear customers, I decided to help station by station. Tapos ko na rin naman ang mga papeles sa office at kung wala akong gagawin ay maghapon akong tutunganga roon.

I think 'rest' isn't in my vocabulary these days. I just want to work all the time. Not minding that it may exhaust me, at least it was worth the sweat.

I smiled at my staff, telling them that they shouldn't worry about me helping them. Hindi ko alam pero mukhang takot 'yong iba magsalita kapag kaharap ako. Tanging sila Laila at Oliver lang ang nakakausap ko at nakikipaglokohan pa minsan.

I was in the middle of tasting some soup when my phone rang. I wiped my hands on my apron and took my phone in its pocket.

Kasintahan calling...

A smile immediately plastered on my face. I excused myself and motioned my phone to my staff and went to a quiet place to answer it.

"Hello..."

"Good morning, baby..." his deep bedroom voice filled my ears.

"Hmm... hindi ba masakit ulo mo?" malambing kong tanong.

"No, I'm all good. Had your soup earlier. Thank you, mahal."

Tumango ako na para bang makikita niyang ginawa ko iyon. Wait... did he forget what happened last night? He must be very drunk, huh?

"Did... Did I say something last night?"

I giggled because he didn't really remember anything at all! I heard a groan at the line.

"If I tell you, baka kiligin ka," pang-aasar ko.

"Baby!"

Hindi ko na napigilang kumawala ang halakhak ko.

"You already have a girlfriend, Mr. Valdivieso," bungad ko.

Silence filled the other line. Akala ko ay pinatay niya ang tawag kaya dalawang beses ko tinignan ang phone ko. Maya-maya ay narinig ko ang kalabog sa kabilang linya. I heard him muttering some curses.

"Gabriel?! Are you okay?" hindi ko maiwasang hindi mag-alala.

"Y-Yeah... Nahulog lang sa kama," he said. "But... care to repeat what you've just said? Did I hear it right, Nyla?"

I smiled. "Yes, Gabriel. I'm your girlfriend now. I thought you remember things when you're drunk?" I chuckled.

I heard his deep chortle. "I'm sorry, baby. Dad's liquors are way too strong, totally making a hit through my body system. Nagpapa-baby na rin siguro 'yon kay Mom."

Well, I could give Papa that. I can imagine Papa being clingy and all kay Mama. And I think Mama's enjoying taking care of Papa.

"Uhm... Is it okay if I go there?" he asked.

"Akala ko may pasok ka ngayon?" He told me that he will be having a meeting with some of his investors.

"Yeah, but am I not allowed to see my girlfriend before going to work?"

Lihim akong napangiti. "Okay. Ingat ka sa pagda-drive."

"I love you, baby..." Just saying those three words from him made my heart flutter.

"I love you, too, Gabriel..."

Matapos ang tawag namin ay bumalik na ako sa pagtatrabaho. Laila informed me that another pile of papers are stacked on my table and needed to be signed. Bumuntong-hininga ako at humingi ng paumanhin sa staff but they all said it was okay because it's still their duty as employees of the restaurant.
