On April 8th, the nominees for the 2022 Billboard Music Awards were announced on Twitter. The Weeknd leads the pack with 17 nominations while Doja Cat has 14 nominations. Tied for third, Justin Bieber, Ye (formerly known as Kanye West) and Olivia Rodrigo each have 13 nods.
Five new categories were added to the BBMAs including Top Billboard Global 200 Artist, Top Billboard Global Excl. U.S. Artist, Top Billboard Global 200 Song, Top Billboard Global Excl. U.S. Song and Top Viral Song.
