Your POV
Hi there, my name is (Y/N) (L/N), and I go to university and study to become an actor. However, it's harder than it looks, and no matter how hard I try, I don't think I can get it right.
If there was one thing I was known for, though, it was my determination. After looking at several colleges, I wanted to go to this one because it had the best acting program it had to offer.
However, my parents are strongly against it, as they think I wouldn't make it. However, I was going to prove them wrong.
So, once graduation came to an end, I moved out of my parents house in April, and moved into this house that was close to the school. To keep a roof over my head, I work part-time at a nearby live house. It was called Live House Diamond.
Even though I do have a bit of passion for music as well, acting is where most of my passion lies, and thankfully, I met someone who was kind enough to give me a confidence boost.
This is where our story begins...
_____________________________________________Location - The Park
Today, I didn't have any class or work, which works for me, as it gives me a chance to practice my acting skills. I am in my school's drama club, and even though, I never had a chance to be in the spotlight. Probably because I have a few seniors in the drama club.
This time, things are different. Our club president wanted to mix things up by letting one of the new members have the spotlight, and since the club president was impressed by my determination, he was kind enough to give me the lead role in the next play. This was a chance to prove to my parents that I can make it as an actor if I put in the work.
The play we're doing is a Christmas play, and I play the father who goes above and beyond for his family. Right now, I am at the park, and I am practicing my lines.
"Oh honey, as much as I want to spend time with our kids, I have to go. For us."
"I promise you... that I will write to you everyday, and I promise I will come home in time for the holidays."
While going over my lines, someone walked up to me and started clapping. I turned around to see a girl with pale brown hair and dark green eyes. On top of that, she wears red half-rim glasses, and I can see her smiling at me.
"I must admit, that did sound good." The girl said as she came closer to me.
"Really? Thanks. That made me happy to hear that from you." I said.
"Huhehe, it was no problem at all."
"Sorry, I should introduce myself. My name is (Y/N) (L/N)."
"(Y/N)-san, huh? Nice to meet you. My name is Yamato Maya."
"Yamato Maya? As in... the drummer of Pastel*Palettes?"
Maya was surprised when I mentioned Pastel*Palettes, but she still smiled at me nonetheless.
"Yeah, that is me. I am happy that you know who I am." She said.
There was a brief moment of silence before Maya spoke up.
"So, (Y/N)-san, may I ask what you were doing earlier? When I saw you a moment ago, you looking very intense."
"Oh that? I was practicing my lines."
"Practicing your lines? Are you in a play?" She asked with curiosity.
"Yeah, I am an actor for my school's drama club, and I am going to be in the spotlight for our next play."
"I see. What's the play about?"
I told Maya everything about the play, and what it was about.
"A Christmas play, huh?"
"That's right, and there is a lot of drama in this one, so it's not exactly is going to be lighthearted." I said.
"Ah, do you think you can let me know when and where the play is?" She asked. "I want to see your acting skills in person."
"Yeah, of course."
_____________________________________________The day of the play...
The day of the Christmas play was a huge success. We all played our roles to the best of our abilities, and all of our friends and family came to see us. My mom and dad were definitely impressed by acting skills, as well as Maya, who was in the middle of the audience.
The other club members hung out backstage. However, I went to the audience to find my parents and Maya. I really want to hear their thoughts on my acting skills. After looking for a while, I found my parents and went up to them.
"Mom! Dad! Thanks for coming!" I said.
"Of course, we wouldn't miss your big day." My mom said.
"We knew how much this play means to you, so we had no choice but to come." My father said.
"Yeah, it did." I said. "But what did you think of the play? Did you like it?"
"Yeah, I liked it a lot." My mom said.
"So did I. Your mother cried a lot." My dad said.
"No, I didn't! That was you!" My mom protested.
"Hey, (Y/N)-san."
I turned around and saw Maya standing nearby. She smiled at me, and I smiled back before making my way towards her.
"Hi Maya, thanks for coming to the play." I said.
"No problem. It was the best play I have ever seen." She said, providing me with her feedback.
"I'm glad you liked it."
"And if you keep it up, you'll be the best actor in Japan." She said.
"Best actor in Japan? Hmmm, that might be a big hurdle to overcome, but I will try to go for it."
Maya smiled at my determination.
"In that case, I'll be cheering you on."
