A New Feeling

**Chapter 6**

**Carina**

The sound of my alarm clock woke me up from my dream.  All I could remember was that my dream was about Maya.  Carina, you've only known this woman for a few hours, why do you dream of her.
Stop thinking so much. 
It's not you, what's wrong with you?
Since I actually have today off I thought I could do everything in peace. 
But then the call came from the hospital, there was an emergency and a colleague got sick.
I looked at the clock it's 7am.
I have to be at work in an hour.
I went to the bathroom undressed and took a shower. 
After my shower I thought about what I could wear on our coffee date today, as we call it. 
So I stood there in front of my closet and had no idea what to wear. 
Should I wear a dress or just jeans?  No no no. 
Not conspicuous.  So I decided on blue jeans and a black blouse.  Simple but sexy. 
After I got dressed, I quickly made myself an espresso and drove to work.

As I walked toward the elevator, I saw Amelia standing there. 
Hey Amelia.  How are you?  Did you sleep well? 
Any interventions today? 
Wow Carina what's wrong with you? 
You seem so happy today. 
Did I miss something. 
As she asked me, I felt my cheeks blush. 
Um no you didn't miss it. 
Can't I just be in a good mood? 
But you can but if it's not then why did your cheeks turn red? 
Well you're right I kind of have a date with someone. 
With someone ?  Who is it ? 
Do i know him?
Who says it's a man Amelia? 
Oh ok tell me more  .
Sorry, I don't have time, look, my elevator is there, I have to go to the patient's round.

When I got to my office, I quickly changed and went to see my first patient. 
I looked at the clock and it was already 8am.
7 hours and then I finally see her again.

**Maya**

When I was woken up by my alarm clock I didn't want to get up. 
It's the first time I've slept that well in a long time. 
I looked at the clock 7:30am. Shit. 
I quickly jumped into the shower and thought about what I'm going to wear today. 
When I was finished after a short shower I went to the closet, chose my favorite jeans and my favorite sweater and went to work.

When I arrived at work Andy greeted me with a coffee in my office. 
Andy you are the best what would I do without you? 
I'd say you'd be in a bad mood then, Bishop. 
Thanks for the Coffee.  How do you feel? 
Pretty good I would say. 
Jack and I talked about that and rubbed her stomach. 
And we've come to the conclusion that we're going to have the baby. 
Oh my god Andy that's wonderful.  I'm so happy for you. 
So now I can officially be happy about becoming Aunt Maya? 
Yes, Maya, you can officially look forward to it. 
Oh my god I'm so excited. 
My little Andy is going to be a mom. 
What does your dad say about that? 
Oh yeah that's the next problem he doesn't know about it yet.  And I think he's going to have a little problem knowing that Gibson is the father. 
Not because he doesn't like Jack, but you know how he feels about having a partner at work.
He always told us it was inappropriate and only brought trouble when things went wrong.
I know. 
But because he loves you and you are his only daughter he will accept it and will be happy. 
Just don't wait too long for Andy. 
You know your dad he doesn't like being lied to.

I'm just debating whether to tell him with Jack or alone. 
I'll speak to Gibson later. 
So when are you going to tell the others about this? 
Not yet, it's too early. 
Can you please make sure there's no unrest? 
And let me do office work if you distribute the tasks afterwards?

Now get changed, we'll meet in the hall in 15 minutes.

After I put on my uniform I took my phone, looked for Carina's contact and sent her a message.
