How would you tell it to Hongjoong? You knew him too well to know he wouldn’t like the news at all. As a mafia leader, it was impossible for him not to be tough, you would just hope that he would sometimes moderate his anger.
As you were fiddling the brim of your black skirt while waiting on a chair in front of Hongjoong’s office, a few hiccups started to escape your mouth because of how nervous you were feeling. You tried your best to hold them back, but it was impossible. If any sound was coming out of your lips, you were still jolting.“Yoo Y/n. Sir Hongjoong is now available, and wants to meet you.”
The loyal bodyguard Hongjoong sent you stepped aside for you to come into the office through the door he was guarding. As if you weren’t sure what to do, or as if you were looking for a way to have some more time before the meeting, you stayed still for a few dozens of seconds, and slowly got up. You took the few steps separating you from the door. You tried to gulp as quietly as possible, and knocked on the door.
“Come in, Y/n. I was waiting for you.~”Usually, hearing your name from Hongjoong’s lips would make you go crazy and wild. But today, it was different. You opened the door and let your thin figure go inside.
Hongjoong was on his red velvet chair, in front of this huge desk of his. Through his black strand of hair falling off his pushed back blond and dark hair hiding one of his eyes, he was looking deep in your eyes — felt more like he was looking straight into your soul through your pupils — with that smirk of his. At this moment, you could compare him to a demon — but definitely your favorite demon.
And the atmosphere could support this idea of yours: the whole room was quite dark. The only source of light was coming from the huge fireplace right behind him. Usually, you would enjoy the smell of the burnt wood. But surprisingly, you weren’t in the mood to enjoy this scent.
The red velvet curtains were contrasting with the all white wall. Though, you had to admit that because of this bright color, the room wasn’t the darkest place ever.
And in the middle of this luxurious room, Hongjoong was looking at you the exact same way.“Do you have the precious?”
Hongjoong sank into his chair, and as a warning of what you were about to say, he took his dagger out of the sheath which was tied up at his belt. The tip of the dagger against the tip of his forefinger, you could notice he was ready to use it.
“I.. I don’t..”
You lowered your head. You were waiting for something to fly your way and hit you, a voice raised at you, or anything to prove how angry he was. But nothing. You heard the chair legs rubbing the floor, and quickly after you heard a few footsteps getting closer and closer. Sooner than expected, both of his shoes appeared in your sight. You were surprised you haven’t been hit yet, or he hasn’t shouted at you yet. But were you complaining?
You noticed Hongjoong lifting the dagger. You closed your eyes in fear. You knew he wouldn’t kill you. Not here. Not yet. Not you.
But you soon felt the cold blade of the dagger underneath your chin, and lifted it up. The hot breath coming from Hongjoong was contrasting with the coldness of the blade. And this feeling soothed your fear — it even allowed you to open one eye, and then the second one.“You… what?”
Hongjoong frowned. In his eyes looking straight into yours, you could see how angry he was. But there was something else you couldn’t figure out.
“I trusted you. I thought you were the only one able to do it.”
He slowly removed the dagger off your chin, and stepped back. He turned away from you, and took a few steps separating you to his desk.
“But I guess I was wrong… I’m so disappointed in you.”
“No! I-”
You were cut when Hongjoong lifted up his dagger to plant it straight into his desk. It got you off guard. You were so nervous that another hiccup left your body.
“Then why didn’t you bring me the plans?! Huh?! If you can’t steal a simple plan, how can I trust you on other missions?!”
You were feeling so-so-ashamed. You lowered your head once again.
“But… You’re putting me in a tough situation… I can’t let you go, not with all that information you know about us. But I don’t want to… Kill you. After all, this is the first mission you’re failing… But it will take time for me to believe in your capacities and qualifications again.”
Tears were forming in the corner of your eyes, however you were quick to blink to make them disappear. You never thought it would affect you so much to hear this from him, but you had to be the strong woman he taught you to be.
“Or maybe.. I could give you other types of missions?”
You snapped your head up, and immediately landed your eyes on him. Even though you didn't know anything about the kind of mission he was talking about, this was your only chance to make up for your mistake and failure.
“Anything you want, I can do it. I guess I have to be grateful you're offering me a chance to make up.”
Hongjoong's smirk grew wider at how devoted you were. But that was right: you had no choice, no other chance.
“Anything I want, huh? Really?”
Hongjoong came closer to you again. His steps were slow, so slow, to the point that fear was building up within your stomach, to the point that it started to hurt. Your breath was jerky.
“Y-Yes..”
“Well…”
When Hongjoong was only a few inches apart, he brought back that smirk of his. With mischief in his eyes, he suddenly grabbed your waist with his left hand. Too slowly for your likings, he slid down his hand over your hips, your thigh, and grabbed your own dagger which sheath was tied around your right thigh, underneath your skirt.
“In that case.. I know exactly what i'm going to do with you.~”
You hardly gulped, which he heard. He was controlling you, and he knew perfectly the power on you he has.
