Chapter 22: Hand in Hand

I started to walk towards them.

"hey Luke" I smiled and Chloe said.

"Hi Madison" he smiled, "Chloe."

"Are ready to go to class?" I smiled and smirked at the girl.

"Yea." He got up.

"Luke, how about we hang out after school today?" She started playing with her hair.

"Sorry, Nicole. I-" I cut him off.

"He has to hang out with me today. Sorry Nicole." I gave her a frowny face.

"Whatever" Nicole said and walked away.

Don't mess with me.

We talked a little when we walked and Chloe went her way.

"Thanks for walking me" when we got to my class.

"No problem." He smiled, "see you at lunch."

"Yea." I walked into class.

*time for lunch

I was heading towards the cafeteria when I saw Josh and his group friends. Shit.

"Oh who do I see? Oh that's right, the slut. Your talking to Luke now?" That girl asked me.

I just ignored them and tried to walk away.

"Hey are you deaf?" That girl yelled at me and her friends started to laugh. I turned around to see her holding hands with Josh. He just had a straight face.

"Babe, don't waste your time on her." He said.

"I know but I want to ask her about her and Luke. I was thinking about telling him about what a cheater she is." She giggled and whined to Josh.

It hurt to see that. I'm trying to get over Josh but I just have those small feelings. I was trying to hold the tears back.

"I didn't do anything. Josh simply wasn't patient enough to listen to me." I said. I felt a tear drop. Crap.

"Aw, why are you crying?" She asked like a baby, "do you feel bad for being a slut now?" She laughed and her friends did too.

I couldn't hold the tears back and ran to the cafeteria. I whiled my tears and my head was down. I didn't want anyone to know.

"Sorry"'I said. I accidentally knocked into someone.

"Madison?" The guy asked. The voice sounded familiar. Oh crap, it's Luke.

I whipped my eyes.

"Oh hey Luke." I smiled

"What's wrong? Why are you crying?" He asked sincerely.

"Oh it's nothing. Let's head to lunch" I faked a smile.

"Oh isn't Luke helping the slut?" That same girl said as they were walking towards the cafeteria.

"What do you mean?" Luke asked.

"Oh, you haven't heard about the breakup of Josh and her?" She acted surprise. So fake.

"No. What happened Madison?" He was confused.

"I'll tell you later."

"Wow, seems like your clueless. I think you should stay away from her. She's a freakin whore." She laughed when her friends did too.

"No she isn't." Luke said, "she's a sweet and beautiful girl. Better than you will ever be." He told that girl. "Let's go to lunch." He smiled at me and held my hand.

"What?! You will regret saying that?!" The girl freaked out and said.

We just kept walking and walking. Hand in hand.

Ah, I haven't updated in soooo long! But I'm back now :) but I do have testing starting tomorrow and my formal this Friday so sorry if I'm not very active.
