I looked at the clock. It was already 1am.
"Hey, i think I should head home before my parents get worried." Luke said.
"Yeah, I understand." I smiled
"I'll pick you up from school tomorrow." He smiled at me. Our eyes locked and we couldn't look away. It was like a moment in a movie where sparks flew when a couple in love stare at each other.
"That sounds great." I said.
"I have to leave now. Have a good night sleep beautiful." He said and took my hand.
Beautiful. That's what Josh used to call me. Beautiful. I felt angry and sad.
No. "Get over him Madison. You're dating Luke. The best guy in the world." I told myself.
"I'll walk you to the door." I told him. We held hands and walked down stairs.
"Bye." He said to me before he left.
"Bye." I smiled.
I then went upstairs. After brushing my teeth and getting ready for bed, I went straight to bed.
*the next morning*
"Good morning mom" I said walking down stairs giving her a hug. I was feeling in a good mood today.
"Someone's happy?" My mom smiled.
"Oh just a normal day mom. And Luke is picking me up." I couldn't help but smile.
"Does this have to do with Luke?" She smiled suspiciously.
"Well, I mean yes. We are dating." I smiled at her.
"What? When did this happen?" She seemed excited.
"Last night. He asked me out."
"That's adorable. But no funny business?" She asked.
"No mom." I rolled my eyes playfully.
"Good." She laughed.
After that, we sat down and had some eggs, grits, and sausages.
"So how's being the assistant principle going? And that guy?" I asked.
"I love my new job. It's amazing. And I don't talk to him anymore. He wasn't just the guy I thought he would be." She said.
"Aw I'm sorry to hear." I said. I felt bad for her. She probably feels the way I did with Josh when we broke up but just not that bad.
"It's no big deal." She smiled.
*ding dong
"Oh, Luke is here. I have to go mom." I gave her a kiss on the cheek. "Bye" I walked to the door.
"Bye. Have a good day at school." I heard her say as I walked out the door.
"Hey beautiful." He said and opened his car door for me.
"Hi." I smiled.
"How has your morning been?" He asked.
"Great actually. For once I'm not dreading to go to school." We laughed. He began the engine and started driving.
During the car ride, we talked and joked around.
Once we got to school, we walked to my class hand in hand.
"I'll see you in English" I smiled and then left to go to his.
I was bout to walk into class but someone held me back by holding my arm.
"Madison!" It was Chloe. (A/N: haha, not Josh or Chad 😂 I gotcha)
"oh hey." I said.
"So, you seemed happy and I saw you holding hands with Luke!" She got excited.
"well, I mean maybe because we are dating?" I smiled.
"OMG, tell me all about it!" She squealed.
