A week had passed by, each day taking an awful goblet full of the blue potion. It tasted as if a rotten egg had been left to sit in the sun for a full month. I had almost given up four days in but Regulus reminded me why it was important to keep at it.

Regulus insisted he stay with me at the shrieking shack tonight, as much as I denied his request he was adamant that he wouldn't leave me be. I tried to argue my point that we never knew what could happen or if I had even made the potion right but he didn't care about his own safety.

We made our way towards the Great Hall after I had drank another ghastly potion and took a seat with the rest of our friends. Xenophilius started joining us on the Slytherin table after he and Pandora had made it official, we were still yet to see Evan and Lillian make it official but I think they are just living in the moment.

As a group we collectively earned glares from Crouch, Parkinson and the Carrow's but throughout the start of the year we had just learned to brush it off. The first day back was the most nerve wrecking as I noticed Barty sniggering at the sight of my scar but Pandora reminded me of how pathetic they were.

"Halloween party next Friday, who's excited" Lillian buzzed at the thought of us all being able to attend another party together after the events of the past month.

"All of us clearly!" I beamed, squeezing Regulus' hand in my own as I gave him a smile which he returned.

"Ugh, when are you two going to get together already, you've spent every single day together" Pandora exclaimed which made a blush creep onto my cheeks.

"Why I don't know what you mean, LeStrange" Regulus replied sarcastically as he flung a piece of bread into his mouth.

We burst into laughter and soon followed by having our usual chit-chat.

"Nad's, can I have a word?" I heard from behind, rolling my eyes at the familiar voice of my sister.

I stood abruptly from my seat and followed her towards the back of the hall. I turned towards her with a scowl on my face and crossed my arms over my chest stubbornly.

"I just wanted to apologise, for not doing anything when father did what he did, I tried to warn you through that note I handed to you but I suspect you didn't read it" She was fiddling with her fingers, not being able to look at me.

I internally facepalmed as I remembered the note she shoved into my head the day before, forgetting to read the contents as I was too engrossed in Regulus that night.

"There wasn't much you could do anyways, Nyx, unless you wanted to be mauled half to death by a werewolf as-well" I muttered, which made her turn her attention to me, tears starting to pool her eyes.

"I just wanted to let you know from now on I'll try and stand up for you as best as I can, father was shocked when I retaliated and caused a scene after you had passed out in the Knott's basement." She tried to crack a weak smile but it failed as she burst into tears.

"I don't blame you, it's father who's got an untameable ego. I just wish you had been there for me more growing up when father would single me out." Tears started to pool in my own eyes as I remembered the countless times he would throw hexes my way over the smallest of things and Nyx would tell me to 'suck it up'.

"I'm trying to be better, do better. I can't get out of my marriage to Antonin but I will help you get away from Barty. I don't want what has happened to me happen to you aswell and I'm so sorry for being so ignorant and telling you to get on with it." She sniffled as she placed a hand on her stomach, my eyes widened in realisation.

I took her into a warm hug and tried to stifle my sobs into her shoulder.

"I'm sorry I thought you were just my stuck up older sister, I didn't realise what father had been putting you through" I whispered. She pulled away from me and attempted a weak smile.
