"We're going to be fine." I rolled my eyes as I pulled up the long black silk dress.
"I just have an odd feeling, they can't be trusted." Regulus buttoned his black collared shirt.
"I think you are other thinking it. They couldn't even call my father if they wanted to they don't have the mark" I scoffed, buckling the strap on my heels.
"Alright, let's just get this over and done with" Regulus pulled on his blazer and handed me my matching shawl.
I checked my hair, that was in an up do, in the mirror and placed my large emerald necklace in centre just before we made our way from the dorm. We arrived at the edge of the Forbidden Forest so that we could apparate to twelve Gimmauld Place in London.
We appeared in front of the large brick townhouses as they started to move apart, revealing a much darker, less taken care of, town house. Regulus walked up to the door which opened automatically for him and I followed him into the dimly lit corridor.
He opened the door at the end of the hall revealing a gloomy room that had many portraits and chandeliers hanging above a detailed wooden table. He took the first step inside and I followed behind him.
At each end of the table sat who I'm presuming to be Orion and Walburga Black. I had met them in my childhood moving from house to house with my father but they had aged dramatically since.
Walburga wore a black gown that covered every inch of her body up to her jawline and decorated herself with many black jewels. Orion wore an older fashioned suit with a white undershirt and scarf-like tie. Last I had seen him with a shaven face but now he had a beard with an upturned moustache.
Orion walked up to his son first, placing a hand on one shoulder and taking his hand in the other for a firm shake. Walburga walked up to me, placing both hands on my shoulders and looked me up and down as if she were judging the woman that would be marrying her son.
"Nice to see you again, Miss Riddle" Orion mention as Walburga took her son into an awkward embrace and Orion took my hand and placed a kiss on top.
"It's actuall-" I was cut off from replying by Regulus' wide eyes and slight shake of his head.
"It's nice to see you too, Mr Black" I smiled as he held my hand in his own.
"Mrs Black" I smiled and bowed my head to her which caused a smile to turn up one corner of her lips.
"Please, sit" Mr black motioned to two seats which were then pulled out by Kreacher.
We took our seats, Mr and Mrs Black taking seats on two either ends of the table. I held Regulus' hand on my lap underneath the table, squeezing his hand as I was nervous. Kreacher then snapped his fingers and a shallow bowl of soup each appeared in front of us with many forms of cutlery.
"Would you like some wine, Nadia? It is okay to call you Nadia, isn't it?" The intimidating woman questioned from beside me.
"Yes please and yes it's quite alright" I smiled to her as she snapped at her fingers for Kreacher to pour me a goblet.
I took my cup from the table and held it in front of the house-elf which didn't impress either Mr or Mrs Black as they looked towards me in disgust. They were clearly the type of family to treat their elves like shit on the bottom of their shoe. I thanked the elf for the wine and took a sip, looking over the goblet at the confused pair.
"How come you thanked the elf?" Walburga questioned which I choked slightly on the goblet of wine.
"I just think it's polite to thank the help" I nervously smiled to her as my hand tightened around Regulus'.
