It was a quiet Wednesday morning when Regulus got word from Sirius giving into his request. After hundreds of letters back and forth, building his brothers trust back up, he finally agreed to me staying with the marauders over the winter break. In result, saving me from an arranged marriage with my abuser.
Father called us in for a meeting and once again I had came up with an excuse. Regulus on the other hand had to make an appearance to not cause suspicion. It was about nine in the evening when he returned, another person had been recruited but he couldn't say who.
Members had to take unbreakable vows to ensure the safety of the group but many people found ways to avoid taking it. I had always avoided meetings of such to avoid the deathly vow, I'm hopes that if one day I could help save the world from my father I would be able to do so.
I traced my fingers over the raised skin around Regulus' hand and wrist as he winced.
"You didn't have to do this" I told him, upset that if he were to slip up he'd instantly die.
"If we had both avoided the meeting Voldemort would have had both of our heads on pikes" He chuckled to ease the tension.
I put my hand above the scar that snaked around his hand and muttered 'Episkey'. It didn't do much but it calmed the angry red scar a little, easing some of the freshly given pain.
"Thank you" He placed a kiss at my temple.
"He's growing stronger every day that passes, we need to find a way to stop him" I let out a heavy breath.
"Something will come up, I'm sure of it" He reassured me as he snaked an arm around my shoulder, pulling me in for a hug whilst we sat on my bed.
"I have my first Quidditch game of the season tomorrow, will you be there?" He asked.
"I wouldn't miss it for the world" I smiled, placing a peck on his lips.
I stood up from the bed, grabbing his hand with my own to get him up and started to walk out the dorm dragging him along. We made our way down to the common room where all of our friends were sat, including Xenophilius. He had started to spend quite a bit of time in the Slytherin tower rather than his own.
"The Christmas dance is next Saturday so we will need to go shopping!" Pandora buzzed.
"I'm sick of snobby women thinking I have no money to buy expensive dresses" I groaned at the thought of having to spend another day in London receiving questionable looks.
"We will just go to Diagon Alley this time. There's a lovely little dress shop near Gringott's" Lillian suggested, which made a smile return back to my face.
The boys all left together to do Merlin knows what as us girls chatted about what type of dresses we would like to wear.

Friday rolled around and we had decided to skip lessons for the day and make our way to Diagon Alley to shop. Pandora was the only one who seemed a bit nervous as she didn't want to loose ourselves any house points, we promised to make it up to her.
Dorcas joined us as we left through the prefects common room floo network, arriving in a large fireplace to the side of a shabby book store.
"Dorcas, who are you going to the dance with?" I questioned.
We all had our own boyfriends, or in my case a very close friend. The only person we weren't sure about was who Dorcas would be going with as she spent most of her time in the Gryffindor tower.
"Amos Diggory in Hufflepuff asked me, but also Gilderoy Lockhart the Ravenclaw boy. I think I'm going to go with Amos though as Gilderoy is far too full of himself." We broke out into a fit of laughter at her answer. Gilderoy would definitely spend the entire night kissing his own reflection than pay Dorcas any attention.
