"And he then asked me to be his girlfriend!" I squealed along with the girls in excitement as we got ready for the evening ahead.
We were all finally in relationships of our own.
It was the last day before winter break and I was starting to feel excited for the holidays.
I started sending owls to Lily Evans and Marlene McKinnon, familiarising myself with the girls who I would undoubtedly build a friendship with over the next two weeks.
My birthday took place in two days time on the twenty fourth of December. This would be my first birthday away from my friends and family. I should have been upset but nothing was more upsetting than the thought of marrying Barty Crouch Junior.
My sister insisted I not attend her wedding. As much as it killed me to not see her marry I knew she was right. It's not the life I had hoped for her but Regulus insisted that his brother and friends were working to take down my father. I had little faith in the group as the only stories I heard about them were the four getting into heaps of trouble in their time at Hogwarts, they sounded quite immature.
Boys will be boys I guess.
Me, Lillian and Pandora spent the afternoon following the Christmas feast getting ready for the Christmas ball. I styled my hair my clipping the front section to the back, letting my natural curls keep their form. I pulled two strands to the front and added the tiara.
I applied a green and black glittery Smokey eye and my signature deep red lipstick. I clipped the earrings into my ears as Pandora clasped the large emerald jewels around my neck. I then pulled my dress up my body and asked Lillian to help lace the dress at the back.
Once I was changed we took it in turns to help with the other outfits. Pandora wore a slim silver gown which glistened in the light as if it were made of crushed diamonds and off-shoulder sleeves. Lillian wore a princess silhouette nude dress with large jewelled vines snaking from the base up to to the bustier with spaghetti straps.
They had both chosen tiaras and jewellery to match their own dresses and once we were finished we felt as if we were princesses straight out of a fairytale book.
The ball was strictly for sixth and seventh year students, meaning this was our first ball at Hogwarts. What made it even more nerve wrecking was the fact that the Quidditch players from each house had to make their own special entrance. The girls having to enter the Great Hall as the boys stood waiting to take their arm and guide them onto the dance floor.
Luckily both Lillian and Pandora's boyfriends were in their own houses quidditch team which meant I wasn't alone in feeling anxious.
We made our way slowly to the Great Hall as we heard Dumbledore spouting some bullshit quote on the other side of the doors. Soon enough he started announcing the couples, one after the other a girl would walked down the stairs, accompanying their date and entering the hall.
Dorcas was next. She looked absolutely stunning in the slick red satin gown that hugged her body nicely. Soon the doors swung open once more as Dumbledore announced hers and Amos Diggory's name. She looked back and I gave her a reassuring thumbs up as she stepped into view at the top of the stone staircase.
Me, Lillian and Pandora all dove our heads around the corner to sneak a look at her making her entrance. The group of boys noticed our head pop out and shared a chuckle between themselves at our curiosity.
Lillian went next and then Pandora, leaving me as the last girl to go.
"Regulus Black and Nadia Riddle" Dumbledore's voice boomed through the corridors giving me the indication to walk down the staircase.
