Steeling himself, Jace made his way down the stairs along with his girlfriend. Abigail was the first one to notice her papa and mama arrive as she skipped over to them.
"Papa!" Jace heard a high pitched voice squeal, before he felt a force attach itself to his legs.

Looking down, Jace smiled lovingly when he saw his daughter wrap her small arms around his legs before looking up at him, giving a blinding smile full of excitement.
He bent down to her level and kissed her on the forehead, tenderly. "You having fun, sweetheart?"
Abigail nodded her head and smiled brightly. "Yes, papa!"
"Pumpkin, why don't we go and cut the cake? I'm sure you and Alex would like to play with your new toys" Riele prompted.
"Okay, mama!" Abigail nodded vigorously before tugging on her papa's legs, nearly causing Jace to fall over.
Shaking his head, Jace chuckled as he allowed the little girl to drag him over to the table where the two cakes were waiting to be eaten. However, he did make sure to grab his niece's hand in his own instead of risking both of their safety with him falling over.
Soon everyone was gathered around the table with Abigail and Alex sitting in front of their respective cakes.
