@jasminelandy: this photo was taken by bee before the Gothia Cup in Sweden. we would be winning gold over every other youth team in Europe playing football that evening. that indescribable moment was supposed to last, but to my dismay, it did not. that night i was sexually assaulted by somebody very close to me. i am tired and exhausted of not speaking my truth and having my previous naiveness be held above me. no longer allowing the fear i have of that person to continue to affect me. i once loved playing this sport, but that night, it was over. in finally letting the world know, standing with my fellow brothers and sisters who are survivors- we need more protection in youth soccer around the world!!! things like this should not continue to happen. it should have never happened to the 17-year-old girl in this photo. i was just a young girl, nothing more than that. #sexualassaultawarenessmonth
