Chapter 21

Y/n sat in one of the armchairs of her bedroom. It was a little after noon and y/n had already started to miss her husband so much that her heart ached. He had been in his study all morning, not even coming out to eat lunch with her like he usually did when he worked from home.
She had tried to entertain herself all morning. She had read, explored the manor, and tried to learn her way around the library, but she still couldn't stop thinking about Lucius.
She had finally made the decision to go see him. She really didn't want to disturb him but the pain in her heart was growing far to strong.
She walked out into the long corridor leading to his study. She quietly walked over to the dark double doors.
She hesitated before knocking, wondering if he'd be mad at her for disturbing him while he's at work.
She finally knocked on the door and heard his gentle voice say ' come in, love ' .
He had leaned to recognize the sound of her knocking.

She carefully opened the door and nervously stepped inside.
" what's the matter sweetie?" He asked, putting down his quill.
" I just missed you" y/n said, looking down at the floor. She felt a little desperate coming to him like this.
A smile appeared on Lucius face. He thought it was adorable that she already missed him. His little wife made him feel so needed.

" come here " he said, patting his lap. He still had some work to finish but he simply couldn't reject her. She just had to stay very still so that he could focus.

Y/n happily ran over and got on his lap.

" There you go ,love" he said before putting an arm around her waist. He used his other arm to once again pick up his quill and started writing.

Y/n rested her head against his chest and started playing with his hair. She felt so at peace.

Y/n didn't know how much time had passed when Lucius finally put down his quill.

" I'm all done now" he said and placed a kiss on her forehead.

Y/n snuggled deeper into his embrace, not wanting this precious moment to end.

" I'm not going anywhere" he said, finding it adorable how she clung onto him like a little koala.

He then put on arm on her back and one under her legs and stood up. He carried her bridal style over to the couch in front of the fireplace. He put her down and then placed a kiss on her forehead.

He waved his wand and a book appeared on the coffee table.
" do you want some hot chocolate?" He asked.

" yes please sir" y/n responded, making herself comfortable on the couch.

" that's a good girl, using your manners" Lucius said with a smile.

A few minutes later two drinks stood on the table. One hot chocolate with whipped cream, marshmallows and chocolate drizzle, and one glass of Ogden's firewhisky.

Lucius also sat down on the couch and y/n immediately got into his arms. Lucius picked up the book and started reading out loud.

Y/n loved the precious moment when he would read to her. It was something she knew for certain that she would treasure for the rest of her life.

Y/n slowly sipped her hot chocolate as she listened to his voice. The heat of the fireplace made the room comfortably warm.

Around 10 chapters later Lucius closed the book. The girl in his arms had almost fallen asleep. Her hair covered her face but he could still see her sweet little lips that he so wanted to kiss.

" it time to wake up , my flower" he said in a gentle voice, careful not to startle her.

A muffled sound escaped her lips.
" Im awake" she said in a sleepy voice.

She turned around in his lap so that she faced him. She placed a kiss on his lips which he happily returned.

" wanna go for a walk?" She asked. She didn't want to be separated from her husband just yet.

" of course little flower" he said.

After some more kissing on the couch they started getting ready for their walk. Lucius helped his wife but on her coat. It was starting to get quite chilly outside and he didn't want his perfect little wife to freeze.
He then took her hand and led her out to the garden.
They strolled hand in hand through the remarkable garden of Malfoy Manor. After a while they fell into a comfortable silence. Y/n had never been much of a talker. She preferred to show her affection through actions.
However this time, she felt the need to say what her heart knew was true.

" Lucius, I love you"
