To the moon

Davion kept giving me the look while I eat my food. He just remained staring at me. Para bang hindi siya makapaniwala. He didn't even take a sip on his drink the whole time.

I sighed and gave up as I finished the cheesecake. Mom's gonna kill me if she knew I ate sweets today.

"Where are my earrings? Can you like give it to me na so we can part ways?"

I didn't mean to sound mean but he's been acting weird since earlier. If the circumstances are different, I might have wanted to stay and hangout. This is Davion I'm with, after all.

But right now, I just don't feel like it. I'm used to receiving a wide variety of gaze. From harsh to warm, name it. Sanay na ko. But this one. The one he's giving me. Hindi ko mapangalanan. He looks... dismayed.. or... I don't know. At some point, he even seems annoyed for some reason.

Then there's pity on his eyes which I don't really like. Heck, I don't even know where that's coming from. I truly hate that one the most.

I was just about to text my driver to come pick me up,"

Tumango siya. "Ako na ang maghahatid sayo pauwi. I need to talk to your parents. Let's go,"

He didn't even batt an eye when I asked him why he have to do what he just said.

"We have to do something about the way you perceive situations, Solace. Your father won't be pleased to hear the things you told me earlier the way you said it to me. Ako na ang magsasabi. Isa pa, I have some corporate matters to discuss with your Mom about the firm."

His tone was filled with conviction and finality. He talks smart and smooth. Mapa-loob o labas ng school. It was as if he always get to have the final say on anything.

Davion's phone rang while we were on the road. He just kept on dismissing it earlier. But this time, he finally answered it.

The caller ID flashed on the dashboard screen as it seems to be connected with his phone. Trisha ang pangalang lumitaw roon. Is that our classmate Trisha?

"I can't make it." bungad ng katabi ko sa kabilang linya. No greetings or such. "Let's just meet later tonight, instead. Tatawagan kita,"

He took off the airpods from his ears just like that. Binalingan ko siya.

"Was that Trisha? Our classmate?"

He glanced briefly at me before returning his gaze upfront.

"No.."

He said the girl goes to another school. Letran, in particular.

Tumango ako. "You're dating her?"
