Doc sat miserably in his half house in his awfully pink bed, his broken leg lying lifelessly on the mattress. He leaned back into the pillows, sighing in annoyance as he glared grumpily down at his bandaged leg as if he could scare it into healing faster. Why did that STUPID CAVE have to be RIGHT IN HIS WAY? And of course he had to fall into it and break his leg.

Just his luck.

He closed his eye, grumbling under his breath. He opened his eye again to the sound of a rocket, and then an overly-cheerful voice called, "Doc! I'm back!" He cursed his fluttery heart for beating quicker than normal as Bdubs walked into the room. "Heyo, Doc," Bdubs said as he set a magenta shulker box down on the window seat. "How are you doing?" Doc snorted. "I'm in pain; what else is new?" he grumbled, taking his eyes Bdubs to stare at the pink striped wall.

Bdubs chuckled a bit, tightening his red headband. "Well, X gave me a bunch of healing potions to help with that," he explained, taking the shulker box in his hands and bringing it over to the side of the bed. "Tell him thanks for that," Doc sighed, longing for the magical relief of the potions. "I will, Doccy," Bdubs promised with a small smile. Doc wrinkled his nose at the American. "You know I don't like that nickname," Doc protested, narrowing his eyes at Bdubs. "You ever think that's why I call you that?" Bdubs asked cheekily, raising an eyebrow at the cyborg. "Besides, you're cute when you're angry." Doc felt his face flush bright red, and he scowled at Bdubs, who just giggled. "Shut up," he growled as menacingly as he could muster after a comment like that. His mechanical heart was going a million miles an hour, and he was sure that it was going to malfunction if Bdubs said something like that again. "Fine," Bdubs sighed with a smile that made Doc feel more woozy than he already was. Bdubs leaned down and opened the shulker box, pulling out a swirly red-pink potion. He handed it to Doc, who gratefully accepted it. He drank it quickly, not even bothering to taste it at all. Instantly, he felt the pain in his leg lessen, and he sighed softly in relief. "Better?" Bdubs asked kindly, packing away the potion shulker box. Doc nodded, stretching his arms above his head.

Bdubs turned back to him with a grin. "Oh my gosh, Xisuma's potion brewer machine thing is NUTS! It's like five million blocks long and it makes a sound like wooshhhwooshwooshhhgluglugclunk and then the potions just FLOW INTO THE CHEST," Bdubs exclaimed, bouncing over to the bed. Doc snorted, adjusting the settings on his robotic arm. "I think five million blocks is an exaggeration," he chuckled, looking up from his arm. "IT IS NOT," Bdubs protested, his cheeks flushing a light shade of red. The crimson colour highlighted his freckles, making them a lot more obvious. Doc realized after a moment that he'd been staring for a while, and he was glaring by accident. He tried to shift his expression (unsuccessfully) and just ended up embarrassing himself. "You good?" Bdubs asked, his eyebrows lifting in a confused expression. "You look like you're going to puke; do I need to get a bucket?" Doc laughed, rubbing his eye. "No, I'm just tired," he replied, running his mechanical hand through his hair. "There's a simple solution for that problem," Bdubs chuckled. "It's called sleeping; do you need a definition?" Doc narrowed his eye jokingly at Bdubs, who laughed and sat down at the edge of the bed Doc was in. Doc yawned and shifted into a more comfortable position, his eyelid falling closed. He was exhausted from being so easily flustered around Bdubs. He felt Bdubs curl up beside him, his smaller frame huddled against Doc's taller form. He didn't really care at this point, he just wanted to sleep. He felt Bdubs take a deep breath and then relax completely. "'Night Bdubs," Doc mumbled, his natural arm wrapping gently around the American. "Love you." That last sentence didn't really click in his head as something he had said; he'd more so been thinking about it.
