Being banned from Hermitcraft? Not scared.

Fighting his brother? Not scared.

Getting back into Hermitcraft? Not scared.

His first date with Ex? ABSOLUTELY TERRIFIED.

Where is the logic with this stuff?!

Hels paced across the beach, his footsteps irregular because of the sand. He sighed and took his helmet off, running a hand through his hair. "This is terrifying..." he muttered to himself, glancing up at the sky. The sun was just setting, casting dancing orange-gold shadows over the water. The knight unsheathed his sword from its hilt at his side, deciding to practice his sword fighting skills instead of stressing out. His eyes locked onto his opponent; a palm tree.

|:{TIIIIIME SKEIP brought to you by my inability to write Hels fighting a palm tree}:|

Hels wielded his weapon, ready to bring it down for the "final blow" on the tree, when-

"HELS!"

He nearly jumped out of his skin. He stumbled forwards out of shock and instead of putting his sword through the tree, he ran right into it and fell backwards with a loud clank of armour. Hels groaned and rubbed his head as he heard the sound of a pair of feet landing on the sand behind him. Ex burst into laughter, and Hels groaned. "Why did you do thaaaat," he grumbled, getting to his feet. Ex just snickered. He grudgingly picked up his sword from the sand and turned to face the ex-admin. His mouth had been open, as he'd been about to say something, but whatever smart remark he was going to say dissipated on his tongue as he spotted Ex.

The ex-admin was wearing a black, shining dress with lace lining the hem. The front hiked up to just below his knees, but the back stopped at his heels. It was a stark contrast to the armour he wore on a daily basis. Hels thought he looked perfect.

Ex snorted and did a little twirl. "You like it?" he asked, and Hels was shocked to find a bit of shyness in the ex-admin's voice. "Y-yes," Hels stammered, blushing like an idiot. He cleared his throat, resisting the urge to facepalm. "Yes, you look beautiful," he said again, this time without blubbering. Ex blushed as well and grinned. "Keralis practically forced me into it," he snorted. "He insisted that I was not allowed to just wear my armour. You have no idea how uncomfortable this is. I'd much rather be wearing my armour." Hels laughed. "Now I feel boring," he joked, motioning to his regular armour that he was wearing. Ex snorted, taking a step closer to Hels. "You're not boring," he said, grinning. He took Hels' helmet and put it on the knight's head, pushing Hels' wavy brown hair out of his face. "You look perfect."

At this point Hels was a blushing, broken mess.

"Also," Ex added, "I brought my sword. Wanna fight me instead of a tree?" Hels narrowed his eyes at the playful, teasing lilt in Ex's voice, and picked up his sword from the sand. "You're on."

Quick as lightning, Ex had his sword out and swept the blade towards Hels' face. Hels barely ducked down in time, bringing his sword up in an attempt to knock Ex's blade out of his hands. It didn't work; Ex jumped back and brought his sword back in front of him. Hels leapt towards him and for the next five minutes, all that could be heard on the beach was the slight lull of the waves and the clanging of swords.

Eventually, Hels caught the ex-admin off guard and Ex fell down into the sand with an 'oof!' Hels chuckled and stood over him, his sword right under Ex's throat. "Don't you dare get blood on my dress," Ex spat, and then reddened a bit at his sudden outbreak. Hels smiled, laughing slightly. "Oh, so now you like the dress," he snorted. Ex smirked and lightly kicked Hels' leg. "Are you saying I don't look beautiful in it?" he gasped, mock-hurt filling his voice. Hels blushed a bit. "I never said that," he mumbled, looking away as his face went red. Ex chuckled and, with a smirk, kicked Hels right in the stomach and sent the knight flying onto the sand a few feet away. Hels didn't move for a moment, and by the time he came to his senses, Ex's sword was against his neck. Ex snickered as Hels stopped struggling and scowled up at Ex. The ex-admin simply smirked, and Hels rolled his eyes. "You're lucky I love you," he grumbled. Ex snickered, removing his sword from Hels'neck. "Yeah, I am."

Hels sat in silence for a moment, seemingly waiting for something. Ex said nothing, just smirked down at the knight.

"...You're supposed to say it back," Hels prompted, sighing. "It back," Ex snorted, and Hels blinked. "You-"

Ex barked a laugh. "I'm kidding, I'm kidding! I love you too, you idiot." Hels smiled and rolled his eyes as Ex put out a hand to help Hels up. "Good fight," he said, offering a hand to Ex. Ex snorted, and instead of shaking his hand, he pulled Hels close and pressed their lips together. It was complete bliss, and it only ended when Hels' lungs ached with the need to breathe. They pulled apart, and Hels grinned. "GG, butterfly," he snickered, and Ex groaned. "I'm not a butterfly!" Hels ruffled Ex's hair. "But it's too cute." Ex huffed and crossed his arms, and Hels chuckled.

Ex suddenly jumped, as if remembering something. "Hey, guess what Keralis also gave me to bring?" he asked, a mischievous grin cracking on his face. Hels lifted an eyebrow. "Do I really want to know?" Ex didn't answer; he simply pulled another dress out of his inventory, the same as Ex's but red. Hels' eyes widened. "Don't tell me that's-" he began, but Ex interrupted. "Keralis gave this one too me for you," he said, laughing at Hels' face. "Why does Keralis have so many dresses?" the knight asked, running a hand through his hair. Ex simply shrugged. "Don't ask me," he said. "But you should put it on!" Hels shook his head violently, nearly giving himself a headache. "No. No no no, I am not putting a dress on. The only way you're getting that thing on me is if it's my dead body." Ex jokingly pulled out his sword, and Hels took a step back. "Hey. No." Ex snorted, sheathing his sword again. "You know I wouldn't do that," he giggled. "But come on! I wore one! I mean, Keralis was going to kill me if I didn't wear it, but still!" Hels shook his head again, crossing his arms. "No way, no how. You may look perfect in that, but if I put one on, I'll look as out of place as a strider in the middle of the ocean." Ex laughed, putting the dress back into his inventory. "Fine," he said. "You're off the hook this time." Hels laughed.

Ex took out his communicator, and his eyes widened slightly as he saw the screen. "It's been an hour," he chuckled. Hels blinked. "Wow, has it really been that long?" Ex shrugged, putting his communicator back in his inventory. "I guess so. I should probably go back. Xisuma will be worried. You know him." Hels smirked, thinking of Ex's overprotective brother drilling questions into Ex the second he got back. "Yup, I do."

Hels took his hand off his face, leaning forwards to give Ex a brief kiss. "It's been fun," he said, smiling. Ex nodded in agreement. "Yeah, it has." They were both silent; neither of them wanted it to end. "Well...bye, Ex," Hels said, smiling and equipping his elytra. "See you later." Ex said goodbye as well, and Hels was just about to rocket into the sky when the ex-admin grabbed his hand and dragged him back down. "No way, mister, you're not getting away without a kiss," Ex scolded lightheartedly. Hels rolled his eyes and smiled. He pressed their lips together, putting his hand on Ex's neck. He felt a hand on his waist, and a smile rose on his face. They pulled away after a long moment. "Love you," Ex whispered, and Hels smiled wider. "Love you, too."

It was only their first date; nothing too special and far from their last, but they'd remember that night for the rest of their lives.

Bonus!

As Hels lay in bed that night, staring at the ceiling, he thought about what Ex had suggested. He sighed. "Well, it wouldn't hurt, right?" he murmured to himself, rolling over to grab his communicator. "And plus, it'll make Ex happy." A smile dawned on his face as he typed out a message to Ex.

<Helsknight> You still have that dress?
