When you wake in the next morning you're already alone. The brothers left to drive to their stupid gang fight that will happen later in the evening. You almost break into tears the moment your eyes gloss over the empty bedside. You wished and prayed that they changed their minds but they clearly didn't.
Ran's room is messy and his bed isn't made when you look inside. Both of the brother's uniforms are missing and the empty plates in the kitchen prove that they woke up and left.
In a constant state of disappointment and worry you start to make yourself a light breakfast before cleaning the apartment. Every corner is spotless after a couple hours leaving you with laundry to do next. You wash and dry the clothed of all three of you before folding them and putting them in their right spot in each closet.
Ran and Rindou never leave your mind as you try to distract yourself. Not the cleaning or the cooking, not even the TV is able to get your mind away from them and it's barely evening. So you sit and wallow in your worry until they come home. But they don't come home at all.
By the time it's almost midnight you're pacing the whole apartment, waiting for them to step through the door with bruises and scratches on them only for them to never show up. A little after midnight your phone rings and you basically run to where it's lying on the couch, hoping that the brothers are calling you to update the situation.
"Hello?"
You don't expect the voice at all. It doesn't sound like either brother.
"Yes? Hello."
You take the phone away to look at the number, not recognizing it.
"Is this [L/N] [F/N]?"
You answer with a simple yes, your voice quiet since it's not only late at night bur you also don't want to seem rude and scream at the person on the phone.
"Miss [L/N] you're listed as first contact in case of an emergency. Haitani Ran and Haitani Rindou have been arrested after a friend of theirs passed away from multiple gunshots."
"Oh."
There's barely anything going through your mind as the police officer tells his name and the place where the arrest happened. You zone out completely as he gives you a rundown of the situation.
"The Haitani's have been involved in multiple illegal activities and will have to go through a court case. You're more than welcome to visit the police station tomorrow."
It sounds more like a demand rather than an offer and you try to stay calm whole he continues speaking. He tells you times and dates and all that sort before hanging up, wishing you a good night.
You barely understood anything, ears ringing the moment he mention Ran and Rindou in the same sentence as arrest.
In your mind you tell yourself to go to sleep so you can prepare for tomorrow but on your way to the bedroom your legs give out and you collapse on the floor.
As quickly as you hit the floor, tears stream down your face and you hyperventilate while holding yourself up with your hands. You cry and sob and you heave and scream at nothing and no one. The only words coming from you being those that taste like poison in your mouth.
"I told you so."

You wake up the next morning barely remembering the events of yesterday. But you wake up alone. Somehow you wished it was a nightmare, a vision that you can prevent, but sadly it isn't. It already happened.
Like a machine you get ready and head out the door without eating anything, your stomach grumbles but you'd rather endure the pain than feel the food weighing down your already heavy stomach.
