"I don't know about this [F/N]. What if he doesn't remember me?"

You groan, stealing the phone away from Ran once more to look over the profile displayed on the screen. You see pictures of a pretty boy that has grown into a fine man.

In particular a man that Ran had believed to be a girl when he was younger, only for the 'girl' to turn out to be a boy. Ran had wanted to be with him but his own mind was standing in his way, keeping him from truly experiencing what it's like to date someone he's actually interested in. Back then he was too scared of the stares and whispers if he were ever to be seen with another man.

Now he's actually willing to try, having overcome the fear that once festered in his mind.

He told you about a certain profile he came across of a man that he only remembers by name and his exceptionally beautiful eyes. His words, not yours. Over the phone he was ranting about his feelings, being surprised to have found him again like this as well as the shame and dread of having rejected him in the past.

And now Ran is sitting with you on your and Rindou's living room floor, drunk off of two shared bottles of wine, crying about how beautiful he has become.

While the older Haitani has his head lying in his arms, covering his face, you're scrolling through the mystery man's profile, looking through older and newer pictures as well as who he's following and seeing currently.

"What if he's already taken? Not like I had a chance to begin with."

"Oh don't worry he's single."

Ran perks up, eyes staring wide at you, his short purple hair tousled and sticking out in various places from having rested on the table. "How do you know?" Grinning you give him the phone back, a particular post on a different account linked to his main, stating that he's 'done with men' and 'having a terrible hot girl summer'. Again not your words.

"Apparently he broke up not so long ago. Some friends of his still have pictures of them together. The Ex stopped appearing in recent ones."

Ran places the phone down, filling his empty glass up to the half way mark and giving the rest to you before chugging the whole thing. "So there's a chance!" Smiling you nod, exceptionally happy to see Ran so cheerful. Whenever your brother-in-law would talk about his current relationships or hook-ups he'd always seemed so down and empty. Now he's shining over someone he's not even with.

Though it does worry you. There's still the chance that the mystery man won't accept Ran, either as a friend or lover.

You just hope that if it comes to that Ran won't be as disappointed and sad as you think he'd be.

"[F/N] you're the best!"

Ran leans in, hugging your smaller body to his large frame while repeatedly kissing your cheek. You giggle from his drunken antics, your own head spinning only slightly. Over the years you've become somewhat of a wine mom without a child. So just a wine 'enjoyer'.

"Hey, hey, hey!"

Just in time Rindou returns from the bathroom, watching his wife get pampered by his brother. He runs over and tugs Ran's face away from yours. "What the hell do you think you're doing?" Being a little drunk yourself you reach out to touch Rindou's arm, stroking his covered skin lightly. "Don't worry Rin! Ran already has someone he's interested in. And I only want you anyways!" You husband blushes at your remark, removing himself from his brother and sitting down on the couch behind you, your body fitting nicely between his legs.

"And? Who is it?"

Ran takes his phone off the table, unlocks it and shoves it straight into Rindou's face. He struggles to see from the close proximity but adjusts the distance to read the name shortly after.
