Hours later Rindou and you stand up from the couch, where you have been cuddling and crying together, reminiscing of the past and talking about the future. It wasn't until now, when your stomachs grumbled loud enough, for the two of you to stand up to walk to the kitchen.
The fridge is filled with pastries and backed goods, as well as some normal groceries and while you're not particularly in the mood to make a big breakfast, you're also not in the mood for something overly sugary. So, you take out the butter before snooping through the cupboards to find the toast to make buttered toast. Rindou takes his seat behind the counter, the one he always sat in before, watching you prepare breakfast and coffee.
While you smear the butter onto the hot toast you hear sniffles from behind you.
Concerned you turn your head, seeing Rindou wipe away a set of fresh tears. "What's wrong? Rin? What's wrong!?" Voice filled with worry you rush around the counter to take his face into your hands. The blond shakes his head, tugging you forward to press his face into your chest.
"I just missed this so much."
His voice is muffled as he speaks into your shirt, his tears wetting the fabric and as you take in his words, your heart breaks. Rindou always upheld a strong and stubborn attitude, not letting his emotions get the best of him, especially when he's sad. It's even worse in front of others, Ran included. With you he softened, letting out his laugh and smile but never his tears. Rarely did you see Rindou cry and even rarer did he let you comfort him.
"I missed you so much!"
The last one and a half years weren't just lonely for you. Rindou and Ran must have missed you as well, the former especially, since you two were basically glued to each other's side.
You weren't a clingy couple, not at all. There were more than enough times you spent away from one another, despite living together. It's just that Rindou and you got along so well that being with each other was just easier than being apart. Ran had always said you two were disgustingly close, to which you replied that he should join. He did. Ran ended up cuddling with you and Rindou while watching the Telenovela you and Rindou adored.
It was moments like these you realized how fragile the blond is around you. The way he breaks so easily from seeing you prepare breakfast. Its moments like these you understand just how much Rindou loves you and how much he needs you.
"Here."
You lift his face, wiping his tears with your shirt before placing a gentle kiss underneath both his eyes.
"Let's eat breakfast, ok? I'm not going anywhere, trust me."
You walk back to the food, finishing up what you started, before placing both plates and mugs onto the counter.
Taking a seat next to him the two of you start to eat, drinking from your beverage every now and then.
With the last bit of coffee remaining Rindou holds his mug towards you, gesturing for you to take yours. You do, looking confused as he clicks the ceramic together.
"Happy Birthday Sunny."
A sweet smile adores his lips as he looks into your eyes, calling you by the nickname he always used. You smile back at him, drinking the last sip of coffee before setting the mug down.
You turn your barstool to face Rindou, him doing the same.
"Sunny?"
"What? Can't I call my girlfriend like that?"
You stare a little perplexed as you haven't talked about your current relationship with Rindou. You never officially broke up, but you haven't really been in each other's lives for over a year.
"Girlfriend?"
Rindou blushes at you teasing tone, leaning forward and connecting his forehead with yours.
"I sure hope so. Only if you want to though."
The last part comes out mumbled, he's clearly nervous about asking. With a smile on your lips you nod your head against his.
"I would love to still be your girlfriend."
Grinning he leans forward, capturing your lips in a sweet and gentle kiss. Your eyes close on instinct, hands coming up to grab his shoulders. Rindou holds your cheeks, stops kissing you for just a second before diving back in. Placing butterfly light kisses on your lips over and over.
You laugh calling his name in glee at the familiar sensation of being peppered in kisses.
You missed this. You missed him. Rindou might call you Sunny, but he too, is the sun that gives your life its shine and energy. And in that moment you decide, you will spend the rest of your life with this man. You will try everything possible to achieve that goal.

"Good morning."
At approximately two in the afternoon Ran wakes up, walking out of his room with messy hair and half closed eyes.
"Morning."
You look over the back of the couch as he makes his way to the fridge, Rindou's arm around your shoulders. "There's pastries that you can eat. But don't touch the cake." Upon hearing of the sweets Ran suddenly becomes more aware, crouching down to inspect whatever you've baked. He takes out the Mount Blanc and pours himself a cup of coffee before walking to the living room.
"You've made up?"
He sits down on your other side, noticing the way Rindou snuggles into your side. You smile at him while nodding, taking another sip of your second cup of coffee. "Thank God. Rindou was always so grumpy while we were away. It was unbearable." Hearing his brothers complaining, Rindou hides his face further into your shoulder, grumbling under his breath.
"You weren't the nicest to be around either. Always crying about food."
"So you're using me for my cooking skills, Ran?"
The older brother struggles to find the right words to defend himself, eyes shifting around the room to avoid locking with yours. His slightly panic stricken face amuses you enough to laugh a little.
"I'm joking. I missed you too Ran."
Rindou's arms wrap around your tighter and you smile down at where his face is pressed to your right shoulder.
"I missed too the most of course."
The TV only serves as background noise as you speak with the Haitani's.
"While I did miss your cooking and baking, I also really missed having you around, honestly."
Ran refuses to look your way as he admits his feelings, probably embarrassed to say it out loud in front of his brother. But you're sure than neither of them are going to shame the other for this. Ran won't make fun of Rindou for the very obvious tear stains on his cheeks. And Rindou won't make fun of Ran for having emotions.
"What are we watching?"
"Charlie's Angels."
Ran groans as you and Rindou answer simultaneously.
The room goes quiet as you three sit comfortablyclose to each other, blankets and pillows surrounding your bodies. And for thefirst time in over a year you feel at total ease. Finally feeling whole againwith the brothers by your side.
