The brothers never came back home.

Not because they have to spend the rest of their life in prison, no. More so because they refused to come back home. They left the prison almost a year later, joining various gangs and getting into shady business.

You tried to contact them, through phone calls, messages and emails but they would ignore all of them. You even tried to get in contact with them through Kakuchou, who updated you on their condition health wise every now and then. But all that stopped the moment they affiliated themselves with Mikey. Kakuchou told you to never speak to him again before leaving you too.

It broke you and there were many instances where you felt like giving up. But you didn't. You kept going, the little sliver of hope called Haitani Rindou was still alive and out there after all. If you managed to see him again you'd most definitely try to speak to him again.

After the brothers left you also started working at a bakery to sustain the apartment and household. You desperately clung onto the home you shared with them, refusing to give it up. The bakery paid well enough but there were months where you lived off of instant noodles due to the lack of money for fresh groceries. It was hard but you got used to it over the years.

Now it's been almost ten years since you've been abandoned by the Haitani's. You never feel in love again, the thought of having another lover sounded wrong and it felt like you were betraying Rindou. As dumb as it is. Rindou truly was your endgame. You can't see yourself with someone else. There's no way for you to let go of the time you had with him when he gave you so much to live for.

"Thank you. Please come again!"

The bakery for example. You often had little dates with Rindou in a similar bakery as this one. Eating cake, drinking coffee and spending hours talking to each other. Exchanging the newest and hottest gossip that spread around Roppongi at that time. You love working at the bakery, having grown from a simple sells woman to a chef barista that sometimes bakes special cakes and sweets to sell at the shop. Your boss loves you, your co-workers have befriended you and you are overall the happiest you've ever been in a future. Granted that you're missing your one true love.

"Next please."

You quickly wipe clean the counter, seeing the next customer step up to it.

"What can I get you?"

Your head comes up to look at the man in front of you, eyes almost bulging out of your head. His purple lazy eyes, the small indents and freckles here and there. His hair changed and his glasses are gone. He doesn't look like blond Harry Potter anymore.

In the past when you dreamed of meeting him again you always thought you'd be angry with him. Breaking into tears while screaming at him the moment you meet again. But you don't.

You smile at Rindou.

He seems to be in good health. His body is bulkier, he's grown a little. His skin is clearer. He looks as handsome as always. That hasn't changed.

"Can I have a black coffee with some sugar? On the go."

"Yes of course. Coming right up."

He doesn't recognize you it seems. Surprisingly. Compared to him you barely changed. Maybe he thinks you just look similar. Maybe he's in denial.

Either way you make his coffee, writing a small note on the cup. Hoping that it will jock his memory. You smile while handing him the beverage, taking the money before saying goodbye to him. He's out of the door not long after that and you see him enter a black car.
