Chapter 18

" Yes that's fine, I will be there Tuesday at 10 am.. ok ... thank you ... Bye"

I hung up my phone.

" Sorry Shaun, that was the doctors" I turned as I watched him grab my bags of clothes.

" It's straight baby, what they say?" He asked picking up the bag, trying to have a good grip.

" They just approved my appointment, and nothing really, checking up on me" I said opening the front door .

" What they making sure your alright and I haven't hurt you yet?" he giggled taking the bags outside.

I didn't find it funny.

I agreed to move in with Shaun just so that he didn't do anything crazy, but I could feel this was a bad idea to start.

" So you should be good right? you got everything?" He asked walking in making sure he didn't miss anything.

I leaned on the counter,  twirling the house keys in my hand, I wanted to just say never mind bring my shit back, but it does get lonely at times, just waiting here for my mother.

" Yea I think so, if I missed anything, I'd come back" I lifted myself up, walking towards the door.

" well alright, lets go then" he followed behind me.


AT SHAUNS HOUSE

I always knew that Shaun lived in a beautiful one bed room condo, but I couldn't imagine it being this beautiful.

As I walked in , I gazed at the marble floor, glistening of white diamond ash, and the skylight right above the living room , that held the warmest fireplace.

" Fit for a queen?" He said dropping my bags by the door.

" Its very nice" I tried to seem unsurprised.

He grabbed me from the back.

" I don't want to keep doing this, I want a real family, I want to start my family with you. I love you Toya" He turned me around.

I cant lie , I still have a soft spot for Shaun, but I know hes not going to change.

" Shaun, I'm only doing this for the baby" I replied

" Our baby" He corrected.

" I don't want my child growing up without a father, just like me. I'm not sure if we can ever be in love again, we have other stuff to worry about now" I said pulling from his grip.

I felt a sharp pain in myside

" Ohph" I groaned

" Whats wrong?" Shaun quickly jumped to grab me

" I think the baby just kicked me in the ribs" I chuckled.

Shaun smiled. I watched as his face lit up. I never seen that smile since the day we first met. I smiled back.

" Here sit, I'm going to get your things settled and run your bath water, don't move" He kissed my forehead, and grabbed my things.

Maybe he did change...
