"I can't believe you rejected the hottest rising star according to Teen Vogue!" Garcia gets into the conference room, outraged. "Like why ditch him when you could have given him my number?"

You smile, taking a sip from your cup of coffee. Emily and Morgan are the only ones in the room, so you feel free to speak about it.

"Life is already complicated enough. And he was too pretty" you say, making them laugh. "Also, I spent the night doing face masks with Emily. Wouldn't trade that for anything"

Emily takes her hands to her chest, and Garcia rolls her eyes.

JJ comes into the room, and suddenly the energy changes. Emily looks at the file in front of her, and her face changes completely.

"Good morning" JJ murmurs, a little bit nervous.

You give your blonde friend a shy smile.

Hotch is the next one, and ignoring your presence, he gets into his seat and looks at the file.

"Good morning"

You lick your lips, and the rest of your friends greet him.

Rossi then walks in, and as soon as he gets into the room, he notices the tension. His forced smile confesses how tired he is, as he takes a seat right beside you.

Spencer is the last one, and completely unaware of everything, he goes to the coffee machine. "Have you guys seen the newspaper today? Hayden is in every single one"

He is so casual and unaware that it is almost funny; you are way too busy making a face and telling him without noise to shut the fuck up to laugh, though.

Hotch's fingers press his mug a little bit harder, but nobody is able to notice, the same way nobody notices the rough nights he has had these past two days, unable to sleep, and unable to think about anything but that, precisely.
