Violet's PJs

It was the second morning of camp, which meant time for auditions!

We were woken up way earlier than I would've liked by a bugle, which was weird as hell but apparently was a camp tradition???

"I didn't notice this last night, but I gotta say I love the One Direction shirt", Ashlyn said to me once we were woken up and just hanging out waiting for the bathroom.

"Thanks! I have an endless collection of merch for bands and shows that are no longer around. I packed my Big Time Rush shirt for later on", I replied.

"I stan", Ashlyn laughed.

"So, auditions..." Gina said.

"Oh god I'm already too nervous. Ensemble here I come!", I laughed.

"Oh c'mon, I know you can get more than an ensemble role! Have confidence!" Ashlyn encouraged.

"Anyways, this year I'm doing it. I'm going for the lead", Gina said.

"Aww yay! You'd kill as Elsa", I replied.

"Thanks, Vi. Anyways, I'm auditioning by myself this time and I think I can really get the role this time. Nothing against you guys- I love performing together for Beauty & The Beast auditions last year", Gina said.

"Ok...Gina 1.0", Ashlyn said.

I had to admit, I did see Ashlyn's point. I really didn't want to revisit all of the drama and resentment from last fall. But still, I understood Gina's determination and a small part of me couldn't help thinking 'you go girl!'.

Violet's Outfit

After getting dressed and all ready, I found myself with only an hour until auditions, meaning I'd need to practically run to the dining hall for breakfast.

Since the universe liked to find ways to put me in the most awkward situations possible, I literally ran into Ricky as he was leaving his cabin.

"Oh my gosh! I'm so sorry!" I exclaimed, my face turning as red as possible.

"No, no it's ok", he replied.

"So...how's your summer been? So far, for the week and a half we've been out of school?" I asked, mentally face-palming.

"Umm, good. It's been good. Yours?" He asked.

"Uneventful, all I've done is cried over Stranger Things, so yeah", I replied.

"Yeah, I really wanted to text you about the new season, but I just couldn't work up the nerve to do it", Ricky said.

"Same! I didn't know how to approach it??" I said.

"Can we just start over? Pretend that all the awkwardness never happened?" Ricky blurted out.

"Yes! Yes, absolutely", I replied.

"Ok, awesome. Want to head to breakfast?" He asked.

"I thought you'd never ask", I replied.

And with that, the two of us went to the dining hall. Despite all that had happened between us, sharing a meal together and just talking made it feel like old times.

I still couldn't help wondering if we'd ever go back to the way it was completely though.

After we were finished eating, I went to the Barn for auditions for Frozen, while Ricky went to his cabin to pick something up.

Knowing him, he was probably gonna show up fashionably late to the auditions and then Zefron his way through it.

Once I made it to the barn, I joined the show circle, standing between Ashlyn and Carlos.

It was quickly announced to everyone that EJ would be our director, with Val, who was a CIT, being our choreographer.

EJ really had no clue how to hold auditions, so we began with all of us standing in a circle as he sang a creepy ass version of 'Do You Wanna Build A Snowman?'

Luckily, Val pointed EJ in the right direction and then the audition process became a lot more familiar, at least for all us East High kids.

Everyone would first get their picture taken by Maddox, as well as their name, cabin & vocal part written down.

Then, everyone would get a chance to sing their own rendition of either 'For The First Time In Forever' or 'Do You Want To Build A Snowman?'.

I performed right after Gina, which was already kind of a detriment because of how freaking good her audition was.

I chose to perform 'For The First Time In Forever', and while it wasn't my worst audition by a long shot, it wasn't my best either and I couldn't help but feel disappointed in myself afterwards.

The rest of the auditions went pretty smoothly, and of course Ricky came in late and did his whole Zefron thing. Despite that, he was pretty good.

Regardless of our agreement to start over and pretend all the awkward shit never happened, I couldn't help but still feel butterflies whenever I was around him.

Overall, auditions were super fun, and in spite of my own drama I was loving camp so far.

Author's Note: Hey Guys! This chapter is literal trash and I wrote it in the car because that's where I write most of my stuff nowadays. I hope you liked this chapter and I promise my next chapter will be better and will have more content! I plan on updating within the next week, so stay tuned!!
