CHAPTER 7

(Vi's POV)

"Whoo!" Vi puts her drinks up in the air as she dances to the music inside the house party they attended.

Ang lakas ng tugtog sa loob at parang tinatambol na ang dibdib niya but she kept on dancing. She just felt so high with energy and people bumping on each other on the dance floor just gives her the excuse to dance on someone next to her.

After that encounter with Montefalco. Violet just wants to forget the scenes inside her mind na paulit ulit na nag r-replay sa utak niya. Lalo siyang gumiling sa taong nasa likod niya dahil naalala niya ang tawa ni Montefalco and how Vi gaped at those smiles. Or how those hands held her when she was about to fall over. But she just compared Montefalco's body with the girl she was currently dancing with. Not that she was gazing at Montefalco's body more.

Muli niyang iniling ang ulo niya and looked for where her friends are. Baka kailangan niya lang munang makipag usap sa mga kaibigan para maibaling ang isip niya sa ibang bagay. Tumango ang mga kaibigan niya sa kanya at inangat ng mga ito ang hawak hawak ding cold beer.

Jona even pointed with her mouth. Nakaturo ito sa likod niya and when Vi looked back. Her mouth formed into an 'O'. Caper held her waist and smiled at her.

Shit.

Vi forced a smile. He was grooving to the song and Vi freezed up.

"Hi. Lila."

L-Lila? Vi mentally smacked herself dahil nakatunganga siya dito. Di siya makapaniwala sa binansag nito sa kanya.

"A-Ayaw mo ba?" Napangiwi ito.

Umiling iling naman siya. Nilingon niya saglit ang mga kaibigan niya but they all made a thumbs up. Kaya naman walang nagawa si Vi kundi ibaling ang tingin sa kaharap. She just grooves to the music too habang hindi makatingin kay Caper Hidalgo na titig na titig naman sa kanya.

"H-Hindi naman sa ganun. Ngayon lang may tumawag sakin ng ganyan."

"No. Actually it was Reiline's nickname for you. Natuwa lang ako at ang cute kasi. So I called you that."

Reiline Montefalco? Ito and nakaisip sa nickname na iyon? Why did Vi suddenly felt like the nickname is not too bad? Vi doesn't know what to say kaya yumuko na lang siya.

"Please. Don't shy away from me." Caper held her chin and made her look up. "I just want to be friends for now."

And Vi can't help but gasp when she saw Reiline on the crowd to the other side. Sa likod ni Caper. Nakasuot ito ng white dress na pinatungan nito ng maong na jacket. Nakatingin din ito sa kanya at hindi maiwasan ni Vi na hindi alisin ang titig dito. Montefalco's gaze is so intense that Vi froze. There was something in those eyes that Vi can't put a finger on. O siguro dahil lang sa medyo madilim ang lugar kaya hindi niya mabasa kung ano man ang nasa mata nito.

But she forced herself to look away dahil napansin niya na ang pag kunot ng noo ni Caper and he was about to look back.

"W-What do you mean?"

Sa sinabi niya ay nabaling ang tingin nito sa kanya. And Reiline moved from her spot and disappeared into the crowd. Hindi inaasahan ni Vi ang buntonghiningang kumawala sa bibig niya. But with that she knew she sealed her fate too.

Please don't say it......don't.... Hindi niya din kasi alam kung anong sasabihin niya dito.

"W-Well." Caper held his nape and looked down before looking at her. "G-Gusto ko sanang manligaw Lila."

Vi held her breath. Inaasahan niya na ang sasabihin nito but she wasn't yet ready. Isa pa ayaw niya ng hotdog. Vegetarian siya. Kaya naman tumaas ata ang balahibo ni Vi sa katawan ng hawakan nito ang kamay niya.

"W-Wait lang Caper. M-Medyo nahihilo na kasi ako."

"Samahan na kita----"

"N-No need. I just need to breath."

She excused herself. Binawi niya din ang kamay mula rito at nagmamadaling pumunta sa likod nito. She needs to be alone for a while. Sinalubong niya ang ibang mga kabataan na patungo sa dance floor and she emerged into a balcony.

Vi held the metal bar on the ledge and leaned on it. Saglit niyang ipinikit ang mga mata niya at tumitig sa madilim na parte na iyon ng bahay. There were lights and the moon is full on the sky. Ilang beses din siyang huminga ng malalim.

But she was startled when she heard someone singing. The voice is from a girl and Vi can't help but looked. And she was stunned ng makita si Montefalco. Hindi siguro siya nito napansin dahil nakapikit ito. Nakaupo ito sa isang bench at nakapangalumbaba habang kinakanta ang binibini ni Zack Tabudlo.

Pag mulat nito ng mga mata ay natigilan ito ng makita siya. Vi didn't move her gaze away. They stared at each other's eyes. Tila may dumaang inis sa mata nito pero bumalik din ang blanko sa mga mata nito. Ito ang unang nakabawi at tumayo na sa kinauupuan nito. And Vi suddenly doesn't want Montefalco to go.

"C-Caper said that you called me Lila."

"And?"

"I-It's cute." Damn it! Bakit ba siya nag s-stutter?

Vi saw Montefalco's lips tugged up in a corner pero inalis din nito iyon agad sa mukha nito at umiling. Hindi nito sinagot ang sinabi niya. Pero hinarap naman siya at tinitigan mula ulo hanggang paa. Sumandal ito sa metal bar na nasa ledge. Montefalco even crossed her arms on her chest.

"Does your two moms know that you party hard?"

"Sssshhhh!" Hindi na napigilan ni Vi na lumapit dito para patahimikin ito. She puts her right hand on Montefalco's mouth and looked towards the hallway she came from. Oo nga at excluded ang lugar at wala na sila halos marinig na music mula sa pwesto but she was also afraid na baka may makarinig sa usapan nila.

Tinitigan siya nito. And Vi realized they are too close for comfort. Tumikhim siya at lumayo ng bahagya dito. But Reiline held her waist. Kaya hindi siya nakalayo dito. She felt her heart beat faster. Montefalco is beautiful against the moonlight and she can't help but feast her eyes. But she mentally shook her head. Si Montefalco 'to. Her friends must have told her to stay away for a reason. Kaya dapat hindi siya mag papadala sa kung ano mang binabalak nito.

"Do you realize that Caper liked you? Tinanong ka na ba niya kung pwedeng manligaw?"

Vi searched Montefalco's eyes. "W-Why are you asking me this?"

"Because Caper is my bestfriend. Kung papaasahin mo lang siya. Better tell him now that you liked woman. Don't string him along with your play pretend thing."

Montefalco snarled the last part and Vi felt offended. Kahit kasing bango pa ng chocolate marshmallow ang bibig nito ay hindi nito napigilan ang pag larawan ng inis sa mukha niya.

"I don't plan on stringing him along. Isa pa. You don't know if I really liked woman. Wag mong pangunahan ang sexuality ko." Vi said it in clenched teeth.

Mukhang na-realize nitong mali ang sinabi nito. Kaya naman binitawan siya nito. And Vi suddenly felt cold. She almost stumbles backward but steadied herself. She brushed herself off. Para ipakita ditong nandidiri siya sa paghawak nito sa kanya but in truth she wasn't. Gusto niya lang masaktan ito sa panlalait nito sa kanya. Nagtagumpay naman siya. Nakita niya ang guilt sa mukha nito.

Tinitigan niya ito ng masama at inirapan. Then she stormed off. Umuusok ang ilong niya sa inis dito. And her heart is abnormally beating inside her chest. Baka talaga kumukulo lang ang dugo niya kay Montefalco kaya ganito ang puso niya maka-react sa tuwing lumalapit ito.
