CHAPTER 51

Vi tapped her feet a few times waiting for Reiliene's decision regarding their projects. They need another project for the whole year or their small company will be torn apart. Their services are of quality pero dahil nga sa makalidad ang kanilang gawa ay wala silang masyadong profit sa mga projects. Maybe if they were able to break into Real Estate Development. They'll have a chance to land bigger projects in the future.

The decision was all in Rei's hands.

Vi bit her lip nang maalala ang pag kindat niya dito. She was nervous as hell but since she developed herself into someone cocky and confident. Its easy to put on a show. Kunwari hindi siya apektado na muli niya itong nakita. But seriously, when did Montefalco had that sexy ass and plump looking breast?

Rei looked cool when they were in high school, pero tila may nag iba dito. Tila nabawasan ang pagiging presko nito. Montefalco's coolness was replaced by elegance and smoother body language. She liked the changes she sees but the fact that she was the one who broke their relationship made her eyebrows scrunched together.

Why did she say it in the first place?

Kita niya ang sakit na lumarawan sa mga mata nito. Nagtagis ang mga bagang niya. She tried to cheer Montefalco pero lahat ng effort niya ay nababaliwala dahil masyado itong malungkot sa nangyari sa ina nito.

She was affected too! Lalo na kapag may ibinabalita siya ditong maganda pero tila wala itong pakialam. It seems that she was the one on the other end grasping at the little attention Montefalco was able to spare her.

"Mahal kita Vi. But I kept my feelings dahil alam ko hindi ko kayang pangatawanan ang lahat. Noon pa lang. I have a gut feeling that there's something wrong with my Mom. I knew that I needed to let go of you to focus on her. Pero umasa ako. Umasa akong andiyan ka pa din kahit na anong mangyari. But maybe we are not matured enough or strong enough to hold on."

W-What? Naririnig ba ni Rei ang sarili? They were able to continue their relationship for a year now. Hindi pa ba yun sapat para makita nito ang effort niya? Ano bang dapat niyang gawin?

Ngayon na nga lang sila nagkausap ganito pa ang ibinibungad nito sa kanya? Why can't Rei smile for her a little more? Why can't she lean on her too?

Matatakot ba ito pag nawala siya sa buhay nito? Should she try it?

"Let's break up then." Pigil niya ang maiyak nang sabihin iyon. Her heart constricted inside her chest. Its as if it was telling her that she was making a wrong decision. Pero gusto niya lang naman na pahalagahan nito ang ginagawa niya para dito.

Rei couldn't speak for a moment at tila naestatwa ito. But she clearly saw relief crossed Rei's eyes. Sa isipin pa lang na ok lang dito na mawala siya ay hindi niya na kinaya. She quickly turned off her laptop and her eyes immediately heat up.

Tumulo ang mga luha sa mga mata niya. There's no one else she wanted to go through hell to make it work. Pero kita niya sa mukha nito ang pagod. Pagod si Reiline sa lahat ng bagay. She was balancing her work and her studies. May karapatan pa ba siya sa oras nito? On top of that, kita niya minsan na nangangalumata ito kapag kausap niya.

Rei is not sleeping well. Masyado nitong inaabuso ang sarili. Kahit na gusto niya pa itong makausap ay hindi na lang niya pinapahaba pa ang usapan para lang makapag pahinga ito. She was taking up Rei's time to take care of herself.

Maybe it's the right thing to do. They should break up to give each other space.

Vi put a hand to her heart to stop it from aching. Ipinikit niya ang mga mata at huminga ng malalim. Wala na siyang magagawa sa nasayang na mga taon. She's still proud that Montefalco was still able to have her dream come true. Pero hindi niya akalain na magtatagpo pa sila.

But she had to be professional.

Pagiging professional baa ng kumindat sa future boss mo? Albeit, temporarily, Vi?

She shook her head from the thoughts that suddenly entered her brain. Nasanay na siguro siyang makipag landian. And besides, she felt nervous nang titigan siya nito.

Ayaw man niyang aminin pero there's still a part of her that is glad that they met. But she doubts it if Rei wanted her to work for Landmark Realty group. Kung siya kasi ang nasa posisyon nito ay siguradong pag iisipan niyang maigi kung worth it bang makatrabaho ang ex-girlfriend mo.

Vi turned to Ava and Mia. She shook her head. "Wag na kayong umasa na satin mapupunta ang kontrata."

Kumunot ang noo ni Mia. "And why is that? Hindi kinaya ng charm mo ang boss ng LRG?"

She bit her lip to stop herself from laughing. Kung alam lang ni Mia. Ex niya na si Montefalco and she still didn't know if they got closure.

Ava sighed. "You were openly flirting with the secretary. Tapos kinindatan mo naman ang boss. Ano sa tingin mo ang mangyayari Vi?"

"Relax. If we don't get that project, we still have some prospects right?"

Nagkatinginan ang dalawa. Saka parehas na umiling.

"Well, we do but are we going to last another month? Sa upa pa lang sa maliit nating opisina ay mauubos na ang ipon. We need this project to get us through another month or year." Ava said with a disappointed look on her face. "Besides, yung mga kumpanyang nakuhaan natin ng mga projects ay tinanggihan mo na."

"Binabarat tayo ng mga kumpanyang iyon. Ano sila sinuswerte? Where can you find a small company that makes quality projects pero mababa ang bayad? I won't work with that kind of company."

"But we are just starting out. We need the reputation. Para lang tayong nag b-build ng reputation only to destroy it afterwards." Ava sighed and shook her head.

Pinili na lang ni Vi na wag magsalita. It was her fault but those companies are crap. They'll just have to find someone who is willing to pay them more money to do quality work.

Vi tapped her heels on the floor. If worst comes to worst, she'll borrow money from her Momma. But she had pride too. Gusto niya sana ay hindi siya hihingi ng tulong pero nakasalalay dito ang pangarap ng mga kaibigan niya. Maybe she could lower her pride for her friends.

"Wag na kayong mag alala. We could borrow money from my Momma---"

"Ms De Silva?"

The LRG secretary came to them and handed them a document. Nakangiti ito at hindi maiwasan ni Vi na hawakan ng mahigpit ang kamay ng dalaga. Nakita niya ang pag blush nito.

Nagkatinginan naman silang tatlo. Mia's face looks like she was about to squeal. And Ava had a relief look on her face.

Does it mean, Rei was willing to work with her?

"Kayo po ang napili ni Ms Montefalco na mag handle ng project. Please stay while I escort the others out."

Vi gulped and looked at where Montefalco is. Titig na titig ito sa kanya but this time. Rei's face is unreadable. Tila ba sinusukat nito ang pagkatao niya.

Ngumiti siya dito. Her smile almost reached her ears. Professional naman pala ito. Well, in that case she'll do a good job para kuhain ulit nito ang serbisyo nila. And she could offer other services too, if Rei wants it.

Sa naisip ay nakapagat siya ng labi niya.
