The Mourning of Paris (Tales of Paris 2)

Chapter 14: Day 3 of Mourning

Hours played and it's still a noisy bakery, since the mourning continued.

Night comes and the friends have decided to leave and will come back the next day. Alya, on the other hand, have asked Joe before his departure.

"Joe, what if Lila arrived at anytime beyond tonight?," Alya asked.

"I don't know.," Joe answered. "But, if she wanted to ruin the night, I'm going to teach her a lesson by my words."

"Ok, Joe, you've been serious. Lila was the reason why Mari died, and now she's going to pay for this.," Alya said, and Joe officially departed.

The next day, and it was the same from the previous nights, the Dupain-Cheng Bakery was still noisy as the mourning continues. People often come and go for at least two hours minimum, with Marinette's closest friends and relatives lasting more than five hours, even having to last a day in the bakery, just for the mourning.

On the high sight of things, Adrien was at the balcony, looking at the sky. Just then, Chloe approched her friend.

"Hey, Adrien, I know it's serious, but did you consider Marinette as more than a friend?," Chloe asked.

Adrien did gave an answer, but Chloe answered anyways.

"For me, she's really a lovely and understandable friend.," Chloe said. "A friend who always have that care and love that she really deserves, and she's really the reason why Paris has been a lovely city for us."

"I hope you understand."

"No, Chloe, I hope she undertsand what you've said.," Adrien said.

"Why is that?," Chloe asked.

"We've always describe Marinette like that as what you've said, and we've always said that what ever happens, we're there for her, but after last week, we didn't save her, even thought we've wanted to.," Adrien sadly said, then starts to cry.

Chloe did imagine that she make her friend like that but, suddenly Adrien sang.

Chloe realized how much heartbroken Adrien is after learning Marinette's death, so she looked up to the sky and continue lissening.

Suddenly, Alya and Joe also came in, and Chloe approched.

I don't know what to do, I'm always in the dark, we're livng in a power keg and giving off sparks.

"What brings you here?," Chloe asked the two.

"I don't know, I just heard Adrien sing.," Alya answered. Joe, on the other hand, stayed silent and looked at the heartbroken blone.

"Adrien is really heartbroken, I couldn't imagine he's more heartbroken than we are.," Joe said.

Once a upon a time, I was falling in love but now I'm falling apart. There's nothing I could do, a total eclipse of the heart.

"He's the one who was perfect for Marinette. When he felt for it, he was happy but when she fell, he felt heartbreak inside of him.," Joe added.

"Maybe you're right, Joe. He's more heartbroken than anyone, and we need more support to him.," Chloe prompted.

Once a upon a time, there was light in my light but now there's love in the dark. There's nothing I can say, a total eclipse of the heart. Total eclipse of the heart.

After Adrien sang, someone were shocked downstairs, and the four went down to check what happened.
