"Show us? How?"
Knuckles asked looking at you with a confused expression.

"Wait I am still very confused... You are royalty?" Amy asked.

"Well, yes and no. I mean not by blood.
It's uhh, really complicated to explain"
You bit the inside of your cheek.
You thought for a moment.

'How can I explain this?'

"The village I uh, come from. I could show you everything. The history... My life... Everything I was... "
You bounced your foot nervously.

"(Y/n). You need rest. You need to take some time to get used to things..."
Sonic started.

"I'm sure that everyone would be fine with leaving this for later"
Sonic glared at Rouge.

"No. If we wait it'll just stay on my mind for too long"

Sonic looked to the side.
He knows it's useless to try to convince you but...

"(Y/n), please. You don't need to explain everything now. If it's a heavy subject, we don't want to pry it out of you"
Tails spoke up.

"Tails's right. We don't want to pressure you. It's something you should decide yourself"
Sonic added.

"But you also don't have to go through this by yourself"
Amy said, giving you a reassuring smile.

"I appreciate your concerns, but I want to it over with"

The forest was dark and damp.
The stone path was covered in half dry mud, making your shoes weirdly sticky.

It felt strange, walking through this path again.
You usually avoided it, because you knew where it lead.
The sun was barely visible through the trees, making it cold in the shade.

The others were following you closely.

Rouge was flying above you, asking questions, mainly about treasure and all kinds of riches that could be hidden within the village.

Shadow, who was walking next to you, was trying not to smile or roll his eyes, every single time Rouge asked anything.

"How come I've never came across this path? I run around this forest almost all the time"
Sonic asked, perfectly interrupting another one of Rouge's questions.

"The paths to the village were hidden with chaos magic. Do you see these totems?"
You pointed at a statue of a Tiger mobian warrior, stood in the middle of the path.

The statue was overgrown with vines and moss.
The warriors left hand was outstretched in front of him as a sign to the traveler to stop.

"These were scattered around the village. I am not really sure how they work... I think they just induced a form of amnesia or something"

"You don't know?"
Knuckles walked closer to the statue.

"No not really. As a child I only left the village a few times"
You said, crossing your arms.

"Why?"
Amy asked, standing next to you.

"I wasn't really allowed to go anywhere without supervision"
