Chapter 19: Threat from Outer Space

You were looking out of the window.
The view of the earth from the colony was absolutely breathtaking.

"Wow, it's really hard to believe that I really traveled to space. And we're inside a Space Station?" Chris asked for the 5th time.

"We call it 'Space Colony Ark'" Shadow explained.

"I've never heard of it before" Chris turned to look the Shadow.

"It was built 50 years ago by Professor Gerald Robotnik. It's been kept secret"

"Wow! A secret space colony" Chris marveled at the beautiful view of earth.

You looked at Shadow from the spot you were standing in.

He noticed and turned towards you. You blushed and looked away.
'Chaos, I can believe he's actually real'
You thought.

"I wonder if I'm the only kid who's ever gone into space" Christ asked noone in particular.

"You're not" Shadow smirked.

"What? Then who was?" Chris asked. Shadow looked away quickly.

"Hey! You know what? You look a lot like my friend Sonic! Are the two of you related?" Chris asked.

Shadow shot a death glare at him and Chris started to shake a little.

You realized he had to be thinking about Maria... Poor girl, whatever happened to her, it must've been terrible to leave Shadow scarred like this.

You felt light headed all of a sudden.
The tingles in your hands completely gone and tiredness setting in.

Now you understand.

You haven't recharged fully.
That's why you couldn't use your power to escape prison island before.

You leaned your head on the glass.

Chris noticed
"Hey (y/n), are you alright?".

" Yeah, j-just a little dizzy all of a sudden" You looked up at him.

"Might be aide effects of the chaos control. Like the first time when we got warped here"

"Your eyes, the color is fading away!" Chris's eyes filled with worry.

"Yeah... I haven't recharged fully before. It's starting to catch up to me" you leaned on the wall, trying to hold yourself up.

Shadow rushed to your side.
"We need a chaos emerald for you to draw power from it!" Chris panicked.

"I'll take her" Shadow picked you up bridal style.

He ran out with you in his arms.

"To the Master Emerald".
