Promise No More Mistakes
By: Shuri🪶
"Everyone makes mistakes," they say
But never said to not blame.
Countless fingers pointing only at me,
Just one trip, you will fall deeply
To the never-ending cliff of guilt.
"Promise no more mistakes next time"
Didn't mean to do it again.
Pinky swear, now swallowing a thousand needles,
Already cut my finger off.
🪶
If I could just stand still in this mine field
So I won't make a wrong move.
If I could just turn back time
To become flawless.
People like to treat your mistakes
As if you committed a sin.
"It's out of my control"
No. Everything's my fault.
Every move is a sin.
If hell is in the afterlife, why am I in it?
🪶
All I want was to live with no worries,
To walk in the mine field without explosion,
And ended up in a flower meadow,
Where my mistakes won't be monsters anymore
Where blame and guilt isn't messing with my head
Oh if I could treat my faults as stepping stones
Rather than deep puddles,
I could be moving forward faster
And mistakes won't bother me.
Just wanted to wave goodbye
To the pointing fingers inside my heart.
