AN: Hey Guys! What's happening?

Hope you are all well, I am so looking forward to writing this chapter.

You guys are in for a treat - I think I have teased you all enough for a least a little bit of Embriel - (that's what I'm going to call them from now on ;))

I won't spoil it for you guys :)

And also I am so sorry for the long update! I'm coming home for Christmas on the 16th so should be able to write a few over the holidays and finally get into the swing of this story again - I cannot believe I started it over a year ago!

Thank you all for sticking through me for this - it's worth it - I promise.

Enjoy!

Song: Crazy In Love ~ Eden Project

"I look and stare so deep in your eyes
I touch on you more, more every time
When you leave, I'm begging you not to go
Call your name two, three, times in a row

It's such a funny thing for me to try and explain
How I'm feeling, and my pride is the one to blame
'Cause I know I don't understand
How your love can do what no one else can

You got me looking so crazy right now
Your love's got me looking so crazy
You got me looking so crazy right now
Your touch got me looking so crazy right now

-

You got me looking
So crazy, my baby, I'm not myself
I've been playing myself
Baby, I don't care."

Chapter 38 | Bruising Kisses

Ember

"They are gone for now. Isn't that all that matters?" Gwyn, the Valkyrie cut the silence that had embedded the room.

It was an odd question considering the severity of what the attack had meant.

It wasn't just a threat of honour.
It was one of promise and certified death - something they could not preface if they were to be as unprepared and vulnerable as they had.

And to think they had considered themselves prepared if it did happen - just not so soon.

Gods not so soon.

It was a fool's thought.

Cass stirred restlessly. He had made it more than clear his frustration and worry for not knowing where she and Azriel were, but by the faint glint in his eye, she knew he wasn't completely oblivious.
